I hear a second season (Season, not part) is already being filmed, and might come out in 2025. This news made up my mind for me. I am not going to watch something where I know that I have to wait at least to 2025, maybe more, to get an answer.
this drama has the same kinda vibe as hometown cha cha cha. but just better.idk why the FL couldn't just sue the…
I beg to differ. Despite the fact that Shin Hye Sun is a better actress than Shin Min A (also she is probably my favourite Korean actress), I liked HTCCC WAY (after 4 episodes at least)more. In my opinion litreally everything was done better there. I am not saying this drama is bad, but so far IMO it just little bit above average.
Can anyone tell me how is the drama???I am in a bit confusion whether I should watch it or the drama my demon…
Personally, I find it good when it is serious and actors have to deliver some proper dialogues. However, there is a lot of humour and attempt to be funny as well, and here is up to taste. I find at least 70% (maybe even 80%) of it as cringe and silly. To me, there was only one genuinely funny scene. But, please know that I am a middle aged person, so the humour might be more appealing to younger population. The biggest draw of the darma though is Shin Hye Sun. She is excellent. After 4 episodes, I am still on the fence. It will largely depends on the balance between drama and "humour".
After 4 episodes I find myself in that uncomfortable spot where I am in the middle. It is not hooking me. The humour veers towards silly/cringe instead of clever most of the time. I enjoy the series only when characters start talking seriously and/or properly. I love Shin Hye Sun, but I need more. I will give it another week and re-asses.
You should try watching Worst of Evil. One of his best works to me
Thanks for recommendation. By the way, I watched Beyond Evil because lots of people recommend it for me and I didn't find it that good (decent though). I mean I finished it, and liked its first half, but felt the entire second half could have been done in maybe 2 episodes. Is Worst of Evil similar?

I am genuinely curious. For us as viewers. Why ratings are important? I understand they are important for the crew. Are there reasons beyond wishing more success for something you like? I looked at Netflix World Top 10 before replying. My Demon, Sweet Home & this one are all there. 3 Korean Dramas. More than any other country. I would say that is very impressive. So, this drama is doing well wordlwide. Just not in the West.
Generally speaking. Straight up dramas about life without any superheros/supernaturals, or thrillers, or murders/revenge are not that popular in the West. But, the world in general (Asia, Africa, and South America) have broadly similar family structures, relationships, and values.
The last scene was so amazing! I have seen tons of Film Noir. That one is cetainly amongst the best. The story is not the strongest part of this movie, but the Cinematography is just wonderfull. It is a movie that you want to look at it. There are some amazing scenes from the top of the mountain, and some drop of water on a skin..and everything in between. The score is great as well, and that theme song is amazingly beautiful. ..and finally Tang Wei..you just can't take your eyes of her. She is so alluring. As a whole, the movie has drawbacks , but for all Cinephiles it is a must watch. Very Good 8/10.
That's what she actually wants to hear "I believe you" but can't bring herself to say it that's why she's indirectly…
Hmm. You might be right. It is a bit a tough spot. But, maybe the ML should have told her. And maybe do it in a serious way rather than dismissive, or over the top ? SHS is a good crier though! lol. On a lighter note: SHS dived again into the water to save someone lol (Ah! I don't think I will ever get over how wonderful and brilliant Mr Queen was)
I find the FL reaction a bit unfair about why they are not asking her? (please remember, I rely on subtitles, so I don't know if she said something different in Korean). To start with, there are only two people who had a real chance (Mom & ML) since she has been hiding. But, isn't it obvious why the ML didn't ask her? He simply doesn't believe in those accusations. I thought asking her would be worse. Isn't what everyone is texting her and asking if it was real? She didn't seem to like that or consider it a concern. I sympathise with her, but I think her reaction is unfair.
Day by day MDL becoming like douban , toxicity is spreading people giving low rating to other's drama so there…
If it makes you feel any better all platforms are like this. MDL is not unique. Aggregate ratings are completely useless indicator whether you will like the drama or not. 5-6 people of similair taste are worth more than 50, 000 of random people.
It has been awhile since I have hated a character as fast as I have with this female assistant. I really hope…
I don't know. I have some understanding for her action even if I disagree with her. Personally, I wasn't impressed by the behaviour of the FL either. They both come off in a bad light.
The mentee in this show must be on something because how you mad that's she's not mad about what you did to her????…
While I don't agree with what she did I can understand her. I don't think the behaviour of the FL is acceptable either. I read subtitles, so i don't know what the original word means. Is it assistant, or mentee? FL certainly didn't behave like a mentor imo. And while I wouldn't go as far as saying she abused her power, she certainly behaved from a position of strength towards someone weaker.
I hope Koreans can correct me if I am making a mistake. The translation referred to the lady who accused SHS character initially as assistant, but later as "mentee". Of course a person can be both, but "mentee" is much more important than assistant, because it implies that the senior person has seen a potential in the junior one and they are working on improving them and eventually promoting them. The relationship also tend to be cordial and friendly since the senior person is partly making an emotional investment. Rightly or wrongly, seniors tend to pick people who they like to mentor. Now, in the series, I failed to see such relationship between the two. It looks like she was purely an assistant. Also,4 years seems to me is an awful lot of time to mentor someone and still not willing to give them a chance. To me, no matter how I look at it, it reflects badly on the senior person. They are either poor judges of ability, or just poor teachers. To me, the incident painted both characters in a negative way. SHS character while didn't strictly speaking "abuse her power" (the charge according to translation) she certainly didn't behave appropriately towards her junior. There is huge imbalance of power. The assistant didn't behave greatly as well, but I can understand her more even if I don't agree with her. Her behaviour is basically "Cutting off your nose to spite your face"
Really enjoyed the two episodes. I personally don’t think this show compares with HTCCC at all. All characters…
I totally agree that this is not like HTCC. Just because location might be similar doesn'tmean the drama is. However, I don't think characters (so far at least) are more interesting than HTCC. Actually, I would say the opposite. By the way, that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the first 2 episodes, because I did. And Shin Hye Sun is far better actress than Shin Min Ah IMO (although Shin Min Ah is more attractive lol). SHS is really very good actress who can play all kind of roles very well.
After 9 episodes. Forget the chemistries between all these young beautiful people in various Kdramas, because the best chemistry is between Deok Sun parents lol. My GOD! these two REALLY look like husband and wife lol. Their scenes (especially bickering) are always fantastic.

I must say based on 3 episodes, I like him WAY more in TSoM. He is very generic here so far.
