Very rarely you see someone going from short dramas to bigger roles in regular dramas. It's usually support roles. The only one I can think of is Cheng Lei who made it big from short dramas to regular dramas as main lead.
I haven't started yet but was checking this out. The FL was from A journey to Love but now she's doing short dramas. Very competitive so I'm sure it's not easy to get main roles in regular dramas.

The ML was useless in the last 2 episodes regarding her kidnapping and escape from the brothel. It won't change anything at all even if he was not involved in it.
