I get the reason for the marriage before her surgery/ treatment. It's just not the same if he was just her boyfriend. Legally he's still not family and might not have that privilege that husbands do. If she dies, he wanted her to be under his household name.

Giving what we have seen of her, I think she's probably partly to blame for her husband's death. I have a feeling she would be pressuring her husband about money, another mouth to feed etc. hence made him anxious and wanted to earn more money to satisfy her, hence he was more careless with the added stress.

Agree you can see hints of it from childhood, particularly when they showed the video of their childhood near the end. I might need a rewatch from the beginning to see some things I might have missed.

oh my god, I lied when I said this is not a romance drama. This drama has so many touching and swoon worthy moments - first confession, on the bridge and so many other moments that gave me butterflies. Way better than any idol romance drama - it's the quality that counts and not the quantity.

Totally agree they are amazing characters with lot of depth. He didn't actually dropped everything at the moment. He took care of the funeral, make sure that family got their compensation so HZ doesn't need to worry. He took care of his business in Beijing, then he can fully be there for Huazi however long it takes. Wanghe is one of the most mature and sensible character but I don't understand why he got so much hate.

XC can never give that kind of support for HZ so I never had second lead syndrome. HZ is always taking care of people and her relationship with XC will always be one-sided. I think that's why she has always like WH because she sees something in him that she never had and needed. That stubbornness and determination to fight and never give up. He will always find a way, just like he was able to persuade his mom to accept HZ. He's a really amazing character.

When she finally had the talk with her mom, then I understood why she did what she did. Huazi is so much like her mom. She didn't want to be a burden to anyone and would rather hide and cry and deal with it herself. She choose the conservative treatment because of her parents because she would rather slowly die than take a risk of having them lose her suddenly (hurting her parents).

I have always thought that Wanghe needs Huazi more than she needs him but I finally realize that Huazi also needs Wanghe's fighting spirit, being stubborn and never give up attitude. They are a perfect match and it's such a beautiful story of true childhood friends to lovers.

I finally understood why Huazi didn't tell anyone about her illness and why she choose the conservative treatment. It was bothering me for sometime. I'll put in spoiler below.

Thank you for this. The drama adaptation is really bad in the storytelling. They barely showed any of that in the flashbacks so we have to wonder what happened. That's why I wasn't even convinced they were in love since they haven't even showed the main reason they fell in love previously and why he shoot the arrow at her to kill her.

It's more of a slice of life drama and not romance focused so if you're here just for that you'll be disappointed.

I don't think he choose to run a red light. Most likely an accident. He was likely anxious and distracted and the rain didn't help and didn't see the lights properly.

The 1 child policy ended in 2016. The adult arc started in 2014 so not sure if it has been 2 years? But you're right, I think that's why Tianming was working so hard to feed that extra mouth. I really feel for his family but I have never liked the wife. She's so entitled and greedy. Feel so sad for his mom.
