I find the ending very sad. I am already 43 years old but had tears in my eyes. I was once like Shi Gu, only studying. I rejected boyfriend proposals until my end of 20ies. I have never been in my life in a disco, for instance. So, I can really understand what is going on in him, although I was not driven by the same force as him. What really makes me sad is, that if anyone had deserved to become happy, it would be Shi Gu.

I watched it in 1997 in a small cinema and it was hilarious. It also aired once on TV but since then it disappeared. This is really a must, if you can cope with Japanese weirdness.

OMG. This series is so good. It is just one of three series I watched, which were NOT BL (Blacklist and Gifted). If I start now watching also non-BL Thai dramas, I am lost forever....
