I understand your sentiment, but my point is that there is no use demanding anything on this platform, anyone here is simply in no position to give you anything. If you wish for an acknowledgment, apology or removal of the scene, you're simply in the wrong place.
If your goal is to raise awareness, then a singular review or a discussion post with pictures and proof would've suffice. Leaving multiple 1-star reviews and comments like this would achieve nothing and only create a negative impression of Islam on people.
I do think it's taking it too far. Even if they were right and felt disrespected (I, personally don't), there's no need to go on a rant about it here, especially since like you said MDL is totally irrelevant.
Also, no geometrical symbols (even the ones widely used in prayer mats) are exclusive to Islam and no, the prayer mats are not considered sacrosanct. They are simply mats used for prayers. But the particular mat that they are talking about (around 18:18 in ep 21) seems to portray images depicting The Kabah which is considered sacrosanct and serving alcohol on that can be disrespectful. But even so, I really do not see the point of ranting about it here.
You are free to not like or not watch any drama you want. No one is forcing you to watch this or trying to change…
I'm sorry to say this but the person who can't handle people's opinion seems to be more you than me - since, I repeat, you didn't really have to reply to me and could've just gone about your day.
I did not feel personally attacked nor invalidated by the original comment; I guess 'an attempt to invalidate' would've have been a better phrasing on my part. It wasn't even my intention to be dismissive or come off as rude and had I gotten the impression that they were up for a discussion from their comment, I would've gladly done so. I simply replied with the same tone they used.
Also, I appreciate your concern and hope you'd be glad to know that I'm a functioning adult and can handle social interactions adequately. I hope the same applies to you. This would be my last reply, have a good day!
All the things you said are totally valid and literally what I wanted to say at first but as it turns out, the op isn't totally wrong either. I rewatched that scene and the one particular mat in question wasn't simply geometrical symbols and did in fact resembled symbols exclusive to Islam. But like I said earlier too, it did seem to be a genuine oversight by the production and wasn't intentionally disrespectful.

It's not literally just them saying it's not their cup of tea though. Saying they don't like a drama for whatever reason is absolutely okay but speculating that people only like this drama because they're "fans supporting the leads without regard for the story's quality" is not, as it invalidates the people who did like the drama. Saying it's not my cup of tea acknowledges that the problem lies with me and not the drama which is not what the original comment implied.
Now I could've chosen not to reply like you said but the same could be said about you too? You didn't have to reply to me either but we both felt bothered by something which prompted our respective replies.
Dropped! All fluff and zero story. The excessive use of beauty filters, close-up shots, and overall color grading…
You are free to not like or not watch any drama you want. No one is forcing you to watch this or trying to change your mind but it's also not your place to question the people who do like this drama. Just say it's not your cup of tea and move on!
In episode 21, there was a scene in which the protagonist was drinking alcohol, and in front of him was a table…
I see. Honestly, there were a lot of mats portrayed during the Beixiang arc that resemble prayer rugs but are no way exclusive to Islam but I do agree that the particular mat in question does appear problematic like you said. Though I do think that it was a genuine oversight rather than an intentional attempt to be disrespectful.
However, if you genuinely wish to raise a concern, it's useless to do it here on MDL as it's simply a community of international fans and has absolutely no ties with the production team whatsoever.
I'm curious what religious symbols and imagery you're talking about? I'm a Muslim too and I don't remember seeing anything portrayed like that, much less anything that was used in a disrespectful or inappropriate manner.
