On episode 24, I didn't expect Lu Qianqiao and Xin Mei to be this cute together 😭

Oh those are two different types of visuals, and you'd never be able to make me choose 😭 I'm his fan since pentagon so I'm used to and love his 'daily' look but I'm also a huge sucker for pretty men in long hair and everyday I'm grateful that he decided to go into acting. Like what do you mean we can see him in those pretty costumes and long hair 😭😭

This is my first drama of Allen and I'm really vibing with his resting 'annoyed/disgusted and everyone is beneath me' expression 😂 It really goes with Lu Qianqiao's character.

It's kind of sad we never got to see Shiguang calling Ji Ling 'gege' again after that one 'xiexie gege'😭😂

Cdrama comment sections tend to be relatively way more active than Kdramas though. For a kdrama, I would say this is still more active than usual.

It's been a while since I watched HDL and though I really liked the drama, it did have a lot going on. Compared to that, Perfect Crown is pretty straightforward. If you are struggling with HDL, I'd suggest giving this a try. Production-wise, this is really well made and is a fun watch overall.

Dan or Qimin disliking their son is understandable, actively trying to kill them is not, even if it wasn't personal for QM. I found QM's character really interesting but hardly felt much sympathy if I'm being honest. Yes, he was ill-fated but overtime, there is only so much you could blame on fate.

Qimin's main problem was that his traumas and circumstances had made him obsessive, paranoid, violent and cruel. And that is honestly reason enough for Qianqian to not like him. His love and obsession were practically indistinguishable. That is not to say he didn't love her, but he could never see her as her own person.

But then again, if QM was the main character, QQ would've actually loved him and he would've changed. If FCY didn't love XZ back, he would've been lot worse too.

Qianqian's ending also struck me as ironic and not quite happy.

I agree, ignoring him was the best thing Dan could've done for the both of them but I also kind of feel like owing to his own traumas and the person he had become, Dan didn't have much intentions to connect with his son anyway and mostly always saw him as a 2D character.

But again, we don't really know anything much that happened before Wanyin came, so he might've also tried and failed to connect with him at some point.

Honestly, we as viewers also only got to see the son as a 2D character, so it's kind of easy to just gloss over him but from his perspective, literally everything and everyone sucked.

Yes, the Medicine King had two disciples Sikong Changfeng and Hua Jin. Since Bai Hehuai is the Medicine King's martial senior aunt, Hua Jin would be something like a martial junior granddaughter as she is two generations junior than BHH.

Yes, that's how main character perspective works and is kind of the point of this drama. We don't even have to go as far as PoJ, even here Xiaoho Bo is the original main character but since the drama is not his story, he became the villain while Dan become the protagonist.

Personally, I found the writing of Qimin as a villain very interesting due to the parallels of his backstory with XZ. QM could have easily been 'good', but it was his choices that took him down the extreme path. But the main difference between QM and XHD is that to XHD everyone including his son were 2D characters who didn't matter much but to QM they were very real.

Honestly, it depends on what you like. Compared to WLGYT, Moon lovers or My mister, Perfect Crown does fall short as neither the plot nor the characters have that much depth. I'd say it's a bit similar to Hotel Del Luna but not quite the same level as of yet for me. But if you are looking for something light and fun to watch, it's definitely worth a try!

The problem with the face thingy is Ji Ling's current face is actually Yuan Xizai's face so it wouldn't make sense that Jiu Ying remembered his appearance as Manman but I do love the reincarnation theory.
