Yes, that's what my English department specialises in: preparing to teach; but I'm possibly going to stay for a PhD and hopefully start teaching at university level. Do you have any favourite writers?

British literature :-) Yes, Yoona but when you;re at the end of the road you think: where did it all go, it flew by so fast. But I wouldn;t like to repeat the road once finished. What;s done is done, it has helped shape me and I"m moving on.

She's to blame in part, she pushed him to become a Shogun. He really just wanted to live peacefully because as he said he doesn't like battles. If she hadn't pushed him to the shogunate..or maybe if his father already passed away, something else would have happened. History is just so twisty. And Hatsu still annoys me, since she was really the one who betrayed her sisters and her family in the first place. I really do not understand how she could have loved Monkey and it still makes me a bit irritated, since she divided the sisters to some extent. Gah. This is a great drama about familial bonds, so tricky.

Course I don't: I'm done with exams; I had two (I took them in the so called "term zeor", which is set earlier than the date of actual exam) and that's it; the only thing left for me to do is finish off my thesis and defend it - I have tine until July and then I'll defend it and graduate. I still have some classes but they are very few and far between, so I'm mostly focusing on my project.
He's a pretty good actor but needs to spread his wings to more ambitious project in order to grow in his skills; I like him, though, he's a charmer.

I fully understand, novels are irreplacable but I do enjoy the recent adaptations because I am able to shut down the novels; films are a medium to be enjoyed in theor own right and I think all of these adaptations, if anything, bring them back to live and give people something to talk about and thus they keep the ivels fresh in a sense. Adaptations are a tricky thing. Did you see the latest version of Jane Eyre?

That's not so much an omission on my part; it;s just that my studies were made to be 5 year striaght to MA, but I wouldn;t like to do a BA either. Oh no, you need guidaance, heck you need guidance doing PhD process too, though a greater amount of independence should be expected and enforced. What credits? Is PhD at your uni a part of a contiuous program? I have some friends who are doing PhD but they are doing it after a year's break, for instance or after several years of teaching. That's why this credit think has piqued my curiosity.

Aww, no worries, Yoona aka Yeona I will always know it's you when I look at your description or some of your favourites. As you say people change and if you;re not feeling comfortasble with your nickname, that's a very good reason to change it! Have a nice day!
This is an American-style romcom which may be seen as a purely an outlet for popular stars and fans of the anime may be very disappointed; it was made to sell. However, you may enjoy it as long as you treat it as a film that is mrely based of the anime and manga; then it becomes a fairly pleasant film that, however, neither a romcom, nor a coming of age story.
Isabella was a likeable character but Miwako was just annoying. Kitegawa is not a very good actress. However, Mukai does have the suave charm and makes for a very attractive George. He's a good actor and I like him, I just wish he could be getting more serious roles, rather than in such purely commercial endevors. I'm giving it a 4/10 and that's being generous, because I thought Mukai was a very good George.
Also, if you likie Mukai, have you seen Gegege no Nyobo yet? Sounds like he's there in a main role, meaning he will have a lot of screen time. It's a lot of episodes though.

Thank you! And a very Happy New Year to you as well! Wonderful, bright and beautiful and joyfuul!
I saw this film at a screening during a festival and I feel in love with it. It's a beautiful piece. I'll have to rewatch to write a review but I really wanted to add this to the database. I'm happy it shows up now.

history and it's inevitable. But I sure liked Mukai more in episode 34 and beyond. At fiurst I thought he's too popular for a Taiga but I think he's pulling his weight and does a poretty good job, though he has a long road to go as an actor still..but once I watched more I found him convincing as Hideata. It is a good drama all in all. :-)

I think I changed my mind about Mukai in Gou (I do quite like him and I pity him too) and slightly about Gou, but I still think she shouldn't have pushed him to something that ended so badly (I am on episode 44 now); no amount of wishful thinking will ever bring about the wishes, especially such big ones...and the circle of bloodshed will go on and will not stop, even if one's wishes are different. it's terrible, hoew omplicated their lives have become because of all that asnd all thise choices to be made that complicate things beyond unravelling..*sigh* that;s what makes these dramas so painful but also addictive. I think it will be a while before I touch another Taiga, but they are very well done and informative. Gosh, this IS addiction, because i sure love and hate this Taiga drama - because you grow to care for characters and then there are so many turns...and then you realise it's

I don't know, As, there is something I love in family bonds, but especially brotherhood stories, father-son stories and male friendship stories, there is something beautiful in the idea of a pure and loyal friendship as there is, of course, in family- brothers, siblings, being supportive of one another. It's a bit sentimental, but I always feel very fortunate because it is pure luck what family you getl if it's supportive and loving, it's just an amazing gift, the best ever. That's why I pprobably like seeing this in dramas; because the good family, the loving family and what we do to support our family memeber/friends is a very beautiful thing. Well, do have a good night, AS.

you will move on to a happy university life which you will be able to enjoy without this heavy baggage; my nephew is real quicksilver and after NOT wanting to fall to sleep for two hours last night, I ewas getting tired a bit. But he is lovable and so intelligent, a genuine quicksilver. I', hsppy to help my brother, especially since I'm the godmother. I will watch it probably now, since I've just caught up with Gou japanese historical drama (but it;s too much, the Taiga drama is just ...too much to bear, too many twists and turns..and that is history. And life...I like Japanese taiga drama based on what I've seen but it's somewhat poainful to watch because it's history. But it;s also very good and very involving, so I won;t be able to keep away from a taiga or any other historical drama for long, though I sincerely love happy endings. Now, this is addiction. lol
