I like the VIKI edit very much. It's my favourite edit and I didn't find it confusing at all. I don't think other versions have more scenes. The TV version has 56 episodes, but they are shorter. So it's the same scenes, but clipped differently.

I can't find the initial comment about the pipa played horizontally. Actually, I came across some information stating that the Tang pipa and the Nanguan pipa was played holding the instrument horizontally. So it doesn't seem like a mistake. Link:

I dropped both SSS and Heroes because of the FL. For me the FL must be an intresting person. The ML is less impotant for me. So I will wait and see for this drama to finish. Hopefully it is good until the end!

My favorite episode is the first with the mermaid. But I have a question. What does the voice say at the moment when they touch their hands? It's not translated in the subs.

In the first episode, when Haishi meets the mermaid, when they touch their hands, there is a voice speaking, but it is not translated in the subs. If someone can post the translation here, I would be very happy (it's my favarite scene).

I have completed the drama, and there were things that I really liked. But as you say the last episode just butchered the whole thing. They just put clips into a mixer and glued it together which made no sense. And then there was Na Sheng, up to the end she was childish and noisy and never grew up.
