Here’s the thing, this drama did the gay love story a good solid in that it didn’t treat it as the obstacle to the couple that your typical boys love type of movies do. The story was more about finding a killer and learning to move on and not hold on to anger and revenge. I don’t really think the title “Trapped” fits. There wasn’t really any part of the plot that involved trapping someone using love. But I can get past the title of the movie because the characters were so cute. Tang Yi was smexy (his acting was only so-so though, boy can’t fake cry worth a thing), Shou Fei was the most adorable male lead EVER (I couldn’t get enough of his expressive face!), and Jack was just too much (very expressive and mischievous). I had very strange editing choices at times that didn’t explain parts of the plot. And I felt like the last two episodes were extremely rushed and managed to fit in a few minutes of fan service to cover up the fact that they had too much story for 10 short episodes (on VIKI). I’m sort of left feeling like I didn’t get a complete meal and it was taken away from me before I finished the last few bites. I’m not starving but I’m not quite full either. It’s a frustrating end to the series that I was waiting weeks and weeks to finish before I watched it. Overall I’m still happy that I watched it, but it wasn’t quite as good as I hoped it would be. So this drama had me laughing out loud one minute and feeling the sad weight of society and family pressure the next. I could feel for the brother and sister, but for their mom too. I mean, how hard to have one gay child in a restrictive communist country, let alone two! For Chinese people family is the number one important thing, especially the family lineage and continuing the line through the grandchildren. So imagine how hard to find out that both of your children are gay and are in fake marriages! But on the other hand imagine feeling desperate enough to get married just for the sake of trying to please your family and society. I liked the movie and that it explored those things but at the same time I don’t think that they really develop the characters much beyond the fact that they were “gay “. The female characters got the most development and personality. But the gay men characters had no backstory, had no motivation. Beyond finding out that one was from South Africa, that’s about all the personal information you got on them. So from the standpoint of why their relationship was so important, I didn’t feel as much connection to them. But overall it was a good movie. Could’ve been developed more if it had been a tv series, maybe. Was this review helpful to you?

So if I learned nothing else from this lakorn, is that revenge is just not worth it! The revenge in this drama is so over the top, it outdoes any Korean revenge drama I’ve ever seen. While the tit for tat between the male protagonist and the female antagonist gets just ridiculous, it was so compelling that I couldn’t stop watching! This is one of the few modern Lakorns that I finished the whole series. Pros: The acting is some of the better I’ve seen in a Thai series, the music was appropriate (for once!), compelling characters, attractive people, revenge and redemption, love and hate. Some good male characters for once: the female leads dad was a sweetheart, as well as Bak the bodyguard, and the best male friend of the female lead. Cons: Literally the worst (and most) evil women characters I’ve seen in awhile. Ugh. I only liked Min and Mam. The rest were either stupid or evil bitches. Some unrealistic plot holes and hi-jinx towards the end also aggravated me. Was this review helpful to you?

This lakorn was just “ugh”. I went in giving it the benefit of the doubt, despite bad reviews. I thought maybe it had some guilty pleasure watching to it. Instead I felt guilty giving it a chance! The acting of the main lead was weak, as was her character. The main male was a total douche bag that decided he “loved” her after raping her in episode 10. Thats after he married her under false pretenses. Did I mention he later in-prisons her as well?! Then, then!, he expects her to love him and be faithful to him. What the—?! Don't even get me started on the awful side strip club dancer characters. They were completely unnecessary to the story and just fought ALL THE TIME. Then the main males aunt and wannabe fiancé were always in cahoots. Like, he couldn't be man enough to put them in their place, but he could jump to constant wrong conclusions about his wife?? What an idiot. They were all idiots. I didn’t like the story, the characters, the acting, or the beyond horribly inappropriate song choices at the wrong times. (You'll understand when you hear 50s rock playing as he's carrying her to the bed to rape her). Just pass this Lakorn, unless you like badly done soap operas. Was this review helpful to you?

There’s definitely better things about this season and worse things about this season, compared to the first. The chemistry still remains, with plenty of kisses! Some of the plot got lost from the first season, and some opportunities I think were lost that would’ve been good for the story. I don’t think they spent enough time in the future, for instance. And they could’ve spent a little bit longer on the identity switcheroo part. Also, the main female kept some of her feistiness from season one, but lost a bit of intelligence I think. Overall she was still a lot better than most female leads you see in Chinese dramas. The ending leaves a possibility of a season three. But unlike season one, it doesn’t leave you hanging necessarily. It leaves the ending with you satisfied, but with the possibility of their son growing up and having a story of his own. First of all, do not watch this unless you can watch Season 2 immediately afterwards. It leaves you with a cliffhanger of sorts that would’ve drove me crazy if I hadn’t had known ahead of time. The villains were a bit cliche and silly at times. But the chemistry between the OTP was the bomb! And the kisses....they were probably the most kisses I’ve seen in a chinese drama ever. Even more than Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. The pairs chemistry saved this drama when overacting and plot holes would have made it a “5” for me. I DID like the original time travel aspect of it. I also liked that the main female was feisty and intelligent. Also that she remained that way throughout the series. She wasn’t perfect. Sometimes needed too much rescuing at times, but otherwise she stood out compared to most Chinese drama heroines. Was this review helpful to you?

Well I finally got around to watching Tawipob (2011) , because it was so hard to find English subs of it, I was finally able to on DailyMotion. This wacky heroine from the future is fun and independent. It seemed to me that often the male lead was quite perturbed by her, and even a bit exasperated. But by the last few episodes his love seemed to have grown steadfast and deep. It was very romantic and he was always a true gentleman and man of honor. It was refreshing to have a mother-in-law love and approve of her future daughter-in-law. It was also nice not to have a scheming second female lead in the mix. I could’ve done without the historical background story. I think the politics played way too much into the drama. I felt like there were quite a few digs and slights against everyone who is “Caucasian”. And the lead heroine should’ve known better because she lived in the future and didn’t have as narrow-minded a viewpoint as her ancestors would have. I think that the stereotypes that were portrayed that all white people are bad and want to distroy other cultures and even find them disgusting was a bit heavy handed. Other than that the drama was pretty good. Was this review helpful to you?

Stick with this drama after the first two episodes, I promise it’s worth it. I went in to it thinking it would be a filler between dramas, but it was so much more. By the end of it I felt so satisfied. The characters were redeemed, not by changing the past, but by changing how they reacted to it going forward and changing their own behavior. It really made me wistful for what marriage SHOULD be: teamwork, respect, friendship, and love. The acting was great and story gave me all the feels. Was it realistic? Sometimes, yes. Time travel premise, no. But it’s definitely worth your time to watch. One of the better Korean dramas I have watched in the last few months. Was this review helpful to you?

This drama has a bit too much cheating for me. But the friendship between G and T had me staying. It remained constant throughout all the other men. In the end loyalty and honesty brought the two best friends together. If you can make it past episode 16 it’s worth it. It ended up being a sweet story! The acting so-so, but the men were hot and nice eye candy, so that made up for it. Plus G’s idealistic but hopeful view of finding love inspired me in this jaded world. You never know where you’re going to find it! Was this review helpful to you?
