I wonder if this is the same in the novel or the actor (who seems to have lines, too, which is kind of telling) was parachuted into the production, as they tend to do from time to time? Oh well, no hate from me, it's a cutthroat business there too, but one does wonder.

I only read spoilers if the OP comments on what episode they're at (before commenting again under a spoiler). I recommend the same until the people who watched the leaks leave the comment section or learn better.

I am only up to 31, but how would the events in it could have happened before the battle? Since General He dies, and then they're all burning incense for him and the Emperor (ASAP as hell) starts spreading rewards FOR deeds in that battle.

ISTG I will NEVER get why people loved My Heroic Husband so much. I liked it - kinda - but it's not my choice of anything. It started so well, I liked the FL, even liked the ML for a while, then it all got way too fantastic and lost the business-oriented-man-from-the-future vibe. In the end it was just so-so. I wonder what was the draw for the people heating the index so much.

All her mother's beauty and her father's brawn or brain LOL. I fear for (their) her children. At least they'll have beauty on both sides hahaha~

So, my thinking is - if you go on the high seas for whatever reason, at least don't come and spoil the fun of others. Or brag about it. Or excuse it.

Soooo, both Li and Wei want to use her as a cat's paw sometime in the future, maybe soon. She's too silly and unwordly yet to know the danger she's in. Li Huai'an also doesn't seem to really understand - he knows it's a trap but has no idea how to get her out of it. And he's decided she's still fair game - boy, you're a SML, sit down and shut up.

The scene with the Wei general puppet came so out of the blue, I wish they'd have left it out of the whole story, it's cringe. I mean, of all the enemies General He had, it really was General Wei from 17 years back they needed to burn in effigy next to him? Like, DRAMA, SERIOUSLY?? Burn the effigy of freaking rebelling prince who caused his death in the siege, he's fresh (you can burn his body too). I get it, most of the visiting generals bowing were from the Xie background and way back (and by the way, why weren't they in the fight?), but let's deal with current events first, shall we?

When she was self-mentoring to tell him, I was along with her - just freaking TELL him and rip off the crust off the wound. If he takes it badly that's his problem, if not, oh well.

I just have to say that I'm basically simping for one of the Man-bros (I can't keep their names down, only Mandi and now he's gone anyway) - the one with the cute peasant accent. He's hilarious. They should give him (a lot) more lines. He's just... the best!

There were some great montages this ep - YES editor, this is how you do it, you dumb@ss! - -particularly the one when they started teaching her things in that garden nook.

PS Is it me or is that Grass Garden where they're keeping everyone important like the Zhaos and the kids and QianQian pretty shabby and completely undefensible?! If, say, I were Sui-the-younger-and-crazier, I could've just tear down the door with a kick. Is this what Xie Zheng considers safety?! Boy, don't get stupid again and have them mowed down when the crazy Suis come to town!!

ETA WAIT it just hit me did they bring Granny Kang's surviving son/grandson in to replace Mandi?! *fuming* I don't even care if it happens the same in the novel.

Ok, 31st's school drama kind of healed my bad mood over 29-30 LOL.

I mean. She's a teacher's scarecrow. No matter the manner, no matter the patience... she's a a VERY hard rock. Teaching her is a death sentence LOL. (Except for our frustrated Marquis). I wonder if she'll ever have an easier time learning anything.

The one who moaned "she doesn't even know all the characters" killed me LOL. I mean - there you go, teaching her The Art of War, and she DOESN'T even get they're speaking in metaphors LOL. I'm so glad I'm not one of those poor teachers. I'd have tried to bash her brains in the third or fourth time she'd not have gotten it even after repeatedly explaining :D

He visited her father that he was friends with in order to let him know PM Wei Yan would send assassins. So her father decided to kill himself and the wife did too. They always maintained the connection.

It wasn't so far back in the past - it's been just a few months since he died, and just a month after that Yan Zheng landed in the snow in time to be saved by her. It just feels longer.

He (the general) knows her name because - suddenly - he's the one who named her, LOL. So he's basically projecting a lot of his friendship to her dad onto her.

Anyway - the fact she seems to know and care about him is just a general trope in Ancient China dramas - "protectors of the people" - type heroes are everybody's dad in their fantasizing dream time LOL. I mean, look at her - she worshipped Xie Zheng so much she built a cenotaph to him, though she didn't know him from Adam, LOL. So she cares about General He just because he's a "father of the land" type and only then because he was her father's friend.

Or simply put - they DID worship ancestors and reverence of the elders WAS a staple of Chinese culture. She'd worship General He and be just as reverent even if they never had a personal connection of any kind, just because what he's embodying.

That still doesn't excuse the sh!tty editing these two eps.

As for the leaked eps - take it from someone who did this dance before because of wanting to see what happens: it's not worth it. They're always low-q, bad or no subs, sometimes with hardsubs over, generally a mess.

If you're able, watch it on legitimate channels and wait for the regular airing schedule. It'll be a lot more enjoyable. If you can't, please don't spoil it for the rest of us.

Like I'm seriously unhappy about the editing. Pieces of their talk on the river shore, okay, why not show them THEN? So we'd know he did give her the freaking swords.

Pieces of her going back to find General He dead - WHY? Show us her going back in the regular timeline, what's the use of showing her all tear-eyed about it and we don't have a clue what's eating at her? Did they lose the great editor of the previous 28 or so episodes?!

Pieces of the second pairing - like, did QianQian freaking TELEPORT on FOOT!! to the border of the city?! HOW? And didn't anybody think to even follow her before she met up by miracle with ChangYu??

Is this the same as in the novel? Is the novel so slap-dashy at this point?! Like WHYYYYYY

I knew she'd be the daughter of his father's killer or something, turns out the rebelling prince whitheld the grain for the army and blamed it on her father, bla bla bla, why did the same prince think her father STILL was the great traitor? In the time since, has he come to believe his own lie? Or is he just reinforcing it because of habit?

I am not happy with the weakness of the rebelling army either. They come, 50k strong, and get wiped out by Xie Zheng's 800?! ('cause he already lost some of his original thousand in the fracass with the Sui generals). But they also conquer Lucheng and then... vaporise?! Didn't they hold it? Who's going to take it back from them?! Like... PLOT MAKE SENSE ALREADY!!!!

Not happy about the leaked eps either. I just hope that means the express comes faster.

After 30th (I'm behind, life got in the way).

I'm not really happy with the editing these past two eps. Kind of choppy and the plot isn't particularly clear (not that hard to follow, but it was way better before these two). I hope they go back to normal in the future eps.

Though her backstory went precisely as I thought it would go, LOL. I mean, what'a trope if not used.I just hope no more tropes follow it.

Also, SHOW US the freaking master-of-war Wu'an Hou FIGHTING for once, dammit. She gets her fighting moments and all, but not him. Why, drama team? Don't lose the ball in front of the goal, dammit!

I'll set a guess for the 27th because on the 28th Love Beyond the Grave starts. Maybe they'll plan it so the most hype goes before another anticipated drama drops. (Dunno how much of a hype LBTG has, but there might be some).

There is a novel they're following. It's not a satire to anything, LOL. It's the way tropes work.

Cute lil' Bao'er being a genius and having photographic memory at the age of six. I feel so inferior. Then again, I never had to survive Ancient China war (or learn to read/write Chinese characters). You win some, you lose some.

One day QianQian's defiance is going to take her one step too far with the man. And LOL @Idiot-Dad-Sui, saying that Qi Min became a madman after the fire and there enters his own son, completely oblivious LOL. These guys have to be either too stupid with their madness, or just naturally stupid with things just under their eyesight's reach LOL. So Sui-Dad's son just happened to be at the Eastern Palace at the same time the Crown Princess decided it was high time to play with fire, and the Eldest Imperial Grandson happened to "die", yet somehow Sui-the-Older (RIP) suddenly changed his whole personality and also got burned enough he's unrecognisable? Are they like seriously stupid? Or do they have suspicions but no proof they played the old switcharoo in that palace fire?

If Zhao Xun survived and knows the secret, he's not the only one who knows. Why did they wait for so long?!

Our couple is being fairly modern. What with her claiming to go find herself and him letting her leave because he loves her, I expected someone to start singing Let It Go or Golden or some other animated movie anthem LOL. Though he keeps cutting himself because of reasons - Yan Zheng, come clean!! Are you a masochist?! Do you just like cutting and keep finding reasons to do it?! Get this man a shrink! If he keeps bleeding himself like this, he'll put Chinese Ancient Medicine to shame and go over to Medieval Europe's lancing LOL, and he'll never regain enough strength to give us the massive battle showdown we already deserve. (I hope they do a great Lucheng battle, it's clear that's where one of the climaxes is pointing at).

Also, let me know - didn't the whole Pig Butcher Brigade just defect from the army?! Like, who let them go officially?! (And did Mandi get better so fast?)

Oh well, at least she got a godfather (though Yi Fu does NOT mean that LOL). Why didn't Lao Tao think to adopt ChangNing too?! (And I LOVE that he not so subtly hinted she's going to be someone VVIP in the future - yeah, future empress, we know she and Bao'er are written in the stars LOL and also "explained" away her frail body. Sneaky.)

I just want to see Mr. Zhao and ChangNing go back to Lin'an. Mrs. Zhao deserves that.

So... First scene. There goes a man who never had to wash his clothes himself. Going to a smithy to forge new swords dressed in a fine white silk shirt... I mean, it's already very hot in there. Clothing is definitely optional. Let's be more brave.

Second scene - there goes a frugal man who maybe sometimes had to patch his own shoes. I swear he has zero luck - first she pities him, then she's worried, then he's outed (AGAIN), it's a game of she-loves-me-she-loves-me-not with the two of them. I hope he gets enough petals.

Also. It's still very early in the spring. Not a lot of sitting water around but somehow mosquitoes abound. Particularly around ChangYu. I bet those mosquitoes also wear noble titles. Or something.
