I'm SO glad they showed us slowly how powerful she is, 'cause the fight was easy to believe with that laid ground. And she didn't win immediately and easily, which they also could have done, but they kept it realistic (in drama-realm anyway LOL). That scene is SO GOOD.

That's where the other half of the FX budget must've gone to, LOL, next to the falcon and pigs hahaha~

Now they made me hungry. I want more like this scene.

PS And he never got a chance to save her. I think it's because he has a dark horse. If he had a white one, he'd have arrived sooner LOL. (Just kidding.)

That was FREAKING AWESOME. That whole battle choreo had me on edge waiting for it to go on and not ever end.

I knew PR would stop the first breaking of the rules farce. This time though it's going to be so much worse. I mean, she basically took out the leader in the eve of battle, then went against the rules and joined the fight - she did bring down the enemy leader but STILL! - and if ANY little thing would have gone wrong, she'd have destroyed the whole freaking plan.

She doesn't know how close to disaster they came because of her.

I expect a big tantrum from them both over this in the next ep, and then when the trouble is settled... maybe she goes on the line again? :D Because he doesn't have a say on it anymore with his keeping of secrets.

The sweetness was sweet though - "If, say, I were a Marquis... would you still want me?", "Hell yeah, I'd be a fool to refuse something like that!" - it's settled, they're married and they're gonna re-marry if needed LOL. She said it. She can't refuse it.

When the rumours went out about her prowess, I bet there were some who knew it was exaggerated. But after this battle, they're going to expect her to work miracles as much as they expect Xie Zheng to do it LOL. They'll be a miracle-working noble family :D

I mean the Top Dramas / Top Shows ranking where right now I'm seeing a J-dorama with a 7.2 general first, even before WLGYT with it's 9.3. PoJ isn't even in there with it's current 9.2.

It's seriously the pettiness that bugs me. Why would they muddle the rankings - what's to gain?! And when it's a kdrama getting over 9, it gets in the Top Dramas immediately, the instant it gets that rate. That kind of bias really does a lot of work on my enjoyment of the site.

ETA I didn't even notice the trending list LOL, so you tell me a kdrama that ended 2 weeks ago and had a mid-rate is first on trending, then a c-BL that is watched by about 6k people, and only THEN a cdrama with 23k active watchers and a 9.2? Okay, LOL. (I'll accept that Perfect Crown would be trending, since it's an anticipated drama. But the rest of them...)

I care when I notice the bias. And the fuddling with the rankings. (That's because I go there to get to the comment sections of certain dramas faster and when they mess up the rankings those sections are harder to find.)

And generally because being so petty from whoever does it for whatever reason strikes me as childish. If the site still pretends to be a little bit pro...

She needs to realise this is serious and can't just go do whatever she wants in a military camp. Most soldiers don't know who she is. SHE doesn't know who she is.

They can't have people doing whatever goes through their head in the middle of a siege.

Though I expect the PR to come and save his back. Maybe.

I think ChangYu won't try it again if he has to be "punished" for her deeds.

But I also expect he'll pay in blood anyway when she finds out.

PPS You know something's in the air when the MDL Top Drama rankings are being messed up with just to make sure a high-rated Chinese drama does NOT make it into top 3. Just go check. I'm curious to see how long the shenanigans will take.

ETA It took about an hour (ATM). So now the first 20 Top Shows are a complete mess LOL (none of the high-rated, some didn't even air yet, whatever). If it wasn't way past midnight I'd keep track of it LOL.
ETA2: 15 hrs later, the Top Dramas is still FUBAR.

TTEOTM alone would have produced a whole generation of new alcoholics LOL.

I couldn't start TDHR because of the turnip head they transformed Ren JiaLun into LOL. I mean... that man is handsome. What's the use of having him look like that?! Particularly if it's meant to be any kind of romance.

... I kind of got used to not expect a certain HEA in cdramas, LOL. It helps a lot that (novel) danmei usually ends in a HEA (even if I want them not to, hahaha~), and I've got enough of those to tide me over until I just HAVE to start a hetero cwebnovel that is base for some drama I like. I was mightily tempted with the novel Blossom is based on (because baby!), but not yet. The time might come.

Not all endings that are not HEA need be bad, though. I think if it's going to be a bad HEA or a good non-HEA/tragic ending, I'd rather have the good end (story-wise, character-wise, etc).

She used a serious voice in MJTY which actually makes me even more hurt that usually she just squeaks around like that. I mean, who makes the decisions on that, is it the actress or the director? 'Cause if the latter, they need their ears checked. I'm stuck at ep4 in LBFAD and I LOVELOVELOVE that OST. I want to listen to it in the drama - but she squeaks LOL.

Well, LYX used to be dubbed himself til the censors woke up one day and cracked on that (too). But he actually has a really smooth and calm voice (like seriously making love to the ears.) (LOL, Bai Lu was dubbed, but her VA sounded EXACTLY like she does :D)

Also, maybe TTEOTM is NOT the drama you want to meet LYX through LOL. It's such a complete misery fest xianxia, BUT!!! We like misery fests. (To my defense, it had an AMAZING OST. And LYX's voice is mesmerising. And then there are the decors. The colours!! The immensity of the sets!! And if you like tragic love stories, then yes).

ZWY's voice is also sooooo smooth. I like it a lot, too :) Since the censors started enforcing the new rules, I've learned a lot of the actors actually sound very good using their own voices.

I might be a heretic here, but have you heard her voice?

Like, I seriously cannot watch LBFAD because of that voice and I struggled HARD with Love Game in an Eastern Fantasy. I know she can't help what nature gave her... but OMG do I now understand completely WHY they sometimes dub actors - technical details like noisy background aside.

She's so beautiful and CAN act (I've seen her do it) but that voice... totally not a fairy. Not a hater - but if there's one actress who should be dubbed in all her dramas...

Because there are others who basically make love to your ears (have you heard Luo YunXi's real voice in dramas?), I know what works and what doesn't - for me at least...

Yes she doesn't know it's a title. I mean, she doesn't realise how it's WRITTEN so she wouldn't know if there aren't any different characters that might sound the same as 本宫. She does remark it's a funny name.

ChangYu doesn't have a lot of reading and writing powers, (or not yet), so to her it would be more of a surprise to realise PR is using the title as a TITLE, instead of realising she's just met royalty LOL.

Only Blossom has the same esthethics - and also tall gray haired handsome ML, beautiful intelligent FL, long fights in the snow, beautiful slow-motion scenes, nice music, good ending.

And it's over, you can binge it.

Fangs of Fortune might be an alternative, though it's quite different.

PS Be on the lookout for the upcoming Rebirth, also looks very good.

It's just wuxia/xianxia lore/trope. Stagnant blood needs to be spit out and then the character feels (some) relief. Or they're so badly wounded that it comes up (usually when they have internal wounds). Strong emotions, wounds, being surprised while trying to contain it - all these cause spitting up blood.

Realistic? As if anything wuxia/xianxia is realistic to that note. Blood spitting in dramas is as common as large breakfast spreads in the morning for the working class people in any American dramas, LOL.

There's a reason why "letting down their hair" is supposed to be seductive.

This drama is just training us to remember the old sayings LOL.
