The battle ended because the enemy general died and his soldiers abandoned the field (nobody would lead them and they don't know the plan).

Why would the ML always save the day?! Why can't she? It took a lot out of her, but the fact she's strong has been painstankingly established throughout the series. She even demonstrated again while carrying the drugged ML.

I mean, it's an adaptation, if in the novel there was some fighting parts left doesn't mean all of it should be included. And now she knows his identity there's some talk to be had between them.

She learned the lesson the first time - if you're about to do some crime, do it where nobody else sees. I mean, murder is a crime right. Somebody's playing with fire~

She already had a rep before the fight - she could push tons of weight (they said so), one hit and a city gate crashes (they even believe it), too bad her husband is on his death bed (sad).

I think she's also banking on her reputation being ruined enough so that older Li won't push his grandson for her anymore. I mean, she's in the middle of a war, only men around her (and a maid, 'cause ChangYu doesn't count for the nobles), with a man who she was betrothed before, doing whatever scandalous things noble minds could imagine.

At the same time she's gaining merit in working as a doctor, so she does have some backup for it.

We'll see.

I think KinnPorsche (TH - 173k) is the highest, and I'm not too sure about Immortality (2ha - ETA 108k now, before being released) that hasn't (and won't ever) even air(ed). If 2ha aired, that'd take the top in number of comments for a cdrama. Fangs of Fortune is currently at 33k, so above SOKP.

For kdrama, Alchemy of Souls I stands at 47k now. Queen of Tears is at 39k. (Just to have more dramas to compare).

Generally it looks like the hit cdramas are more talked about on MDL than the hit kdramas. Though the ratings also don't show similar patters. I wonder why (no I don't.)

He was taunting the Sui general and keeping his part of the army strung there, waiting to see if he (GSY) would do something to the little madman of the Sui or not. And in the meantime Xie Zheng was supposed to close the trap and deal with the rest of the attacking Sui army. And it worked. It's just that ChangYu had other plans for her husband at that time LOL.

It just happens there's a war going on and he doesn't have time to deal with her shenanigans. So he packs her with a bunch to protect her and goes about his business.

Like, what could he do to her in a hot minute?

Now I'm afraid if she slaps him silly, he won't never ever get a true chance to get his fighting power back in time LOL.

ChangYu, have mercy on the Marquis, he never fell in love before so he got stupid with it!

Kept them mad and in one place, didn't it? They just used ChangYu's playbook and it worked (again). The Sui generals might be strong, but their brains are on a lower frequency.

I dunno where you all get this idea he's smitten, he's acting like a big bro all the time, nothing romantic about it.

He's feeling overprotective in compensation for the loss in Lin'An and the fact she did save their lives a few times already. And she's part of their last familiar few faces in their lives, he doesn't want to lose any of them. They're allowed complex feelings that are not love LOL.

She signed a marriage certificate, he signed a prenup. And he'll fight hard to get that MC back and complete :D

It's a joke. She met him through that XiangQi game, he copied the ancient gameplay handbook for her. And he seems to never have won a game on her yet LOL.

The name he used is part of his real name, just a few missing strokes are not used. (That's why she could so easily modify his cenotaph, LOL). He's at least partly married to her.

And he saw her ankles. Ate her sweets. Kissed a few times. Got carried on her back and got to carry her in his arms.

A good general doesn't do all his fighting alone. He has 1000 men to set a huge trap for 30k enemies. If it works, it'll be a slaughterhouse. He doesn't need to be doing the slaughtering himself. Winning against the odds sets him apart as a general, not his manual work in it.

She won't hit him that hard. She likes that lying face.

IMHO he's feeling proprietary towards her and doesn't trust "Yan Zheng" - first because he left her (going to the army supposedly, but still left her and the town got destroyed), second because he looks not that powerful enough to protect her. And now they're just the five of them out of Lin'An and having gone through the danger of death together they feel close like a family. He's having older bro syndrome LOL.

She's also fleeing from an unwanted marriage. She has her deal with Li Huai'an, but it doesn't mean her mother will allow anything other than her marriage to whom she (the mother) chose.

His secret plan is to make her learn XiangQi from his re-written handbook that he placed mistakes in so that he ends up finally winning a game.

On rewatch, the Sui guy came on the battlefield with his maces like he was Sauron in the opening of LOTR LOL.

And she looks a bit like she could pass as a male soldier, but EVERYBODY recognises her as a woman the instant they see her. Talk about reality in dramas finally LOL.

ETA The snow was missing in the slo-mo shots. Then again, there was all that fire. I'm torn. I'd still have loved some slow-falling snow in the fight.
