Does anyone have any idea if Immortality will be released at all or not?
At least the novel is there, and now you know how Chu WanNing would look like. I want the drama, but if the censors never let it through, I'll still have LYX as CWN.
I've definitely thought about that novella, too (especially in the childhood parts). But ADG didn't set his path…
No, seriously, from all the grand and nice and beautiful costumes he had throughout the story, the very best is this last one - the winter coat she gave him, his first gift bought by her (the other coat was bought by ChunTao) and the most important possession he felt he had.
Okay, now excuse me, I'm going to bawl (yet) again.
Well ending as far i remember is very true to the book, even if they cut and altered a lot of stuff. I get that…
Okay so with your name... could you please NOT give TTJ that soup so that when he gets reborn he still remembers things LOL? :D (Or put a good word in with the powers that be who might have the same name so that they do it instead pretty please :D)
Yes it's worth it. This is the best xianxia of the past few years. There are no small plots, it was streamlined…
I guess it's all in how I feel about them, taking them up or not. And I didn't feel like taking them up (despite actually trying hard to like ALP for example, because I like the actors and the trailer really sold it well). I might try them out again someday, but not soon. There is a time and a place for everything, right?
That's why I don't like how they made that rule about the lengths of dramas because so many things were left unanswered…
Nobody cares about second-thought redemption of XL's defective clone, he's probably going to live on blamelessly because that's what TTJ wanted him to.
YQY got Pian Ran's fox power and lived as the Jing emperor for five centuries hidden under that mask. The power he's using to save the capital is PR's fox power too, I guess he might be spent now... but he's not dead, he has a chance to live on.
The sects went back to immortalizing stuff probably pretty full of themselves, as they always are.
Nian BaiYu got to see his tribe saved (TTJ got them out of the time freeze cave). AND left him a message we'll never hear.
Nah, most loops are closed. But they just didn't want to give a HE because they wanted to just top the pain with a bit more pain.

Watch at least the first episode and decide for yourself. IMHO, it is worth watching. The production values are way above anything that came out in the past few years, at least.

I watched a first ep from both (and a lot of other xianxia, not just these) before deciding to go on or not. Generic is what most of them felt like. I'd rather have a heartbreaking one that makes an impact from episode 1 to the last, than lukewarms been-there-done-that.
That is not to say it's what everyone else has to think about any of these dramas. This is my own taste and these are my own preferences.
Did LSS continue to be a goddess at the end when they show her with her daughter?Edit: And she had killed TTJ…
He put the Scale into her to protect her, sent her away then destroyed the Bone. Imagine about a few thousand hydrogen bombs going off at once. Remember the ADG managed to destroy most of the gods with only his power, and TTJ absorbed his power. Yes she was going to die if he hadn't saved her.
I don't know why but weirdly Tantai Jin's tragic life reminded me of the short novel "The Ones Who Walk Away from…
I've definitely thought about that novella, too (especially in the childhood parts). But ADG didn't set his path like that to make an utopia, but just to prepare his vessel for the future.
His only escape was just to obliterate everything he could - but not the world. And in the first instance he had destroyed everything, WITH the world, too. The second time around, a little love (a VERY little love) saved the world but couldn't save himself.
Now I'm thinking about how much he might've been similar to the ADG - did the ADG have to suffer the same fate? Or maybe he was inhuman enough not to see any different path than destruction? I mean, the All-In-Distress-Way was how ADG decided to end his OWN torment.
I guess for anything good there has to be a sacrifice... But dammit... it's still unfair.
Correct me if Iβm wrong, in ep37, the Heart Guarding Scale still had a wisp of Ming Yeβs divine consciousness…
TTJ didn't get to become a god (not even the Devil God) because he wouldn't submit. He has a chance to get reborn and TBH, when the 500 years later part appeared, I thought the Nether River was going to spit him out again...
Maybe that's why she's waiting there.
But she's not a goddess any more, I think. When he self-destructed, he put the Scale in her to protect her, and she seems to have lost a very large amount of power and was actually going to die, if he hadn't done that. So maybe, if she remained a goddess... she'll have a chance to tell him those words.
It's CE, not BE but not because of the actors. Just like the Royal Nirvana. I had to watch the Director's Cut…
I've said it before - good romances have a HEA and then you move on. Great romances are tragedies and you never forget them.
It's not a CE. It's fitting. I like it. I do still hope for an after-thought ep (like WoH did) to help a bit with the distress, but even if they don't have one planned, this is a good ending.

Oh okay then I guess even Cheng Yi won't get me to take it up again...

After this one, only CWN can rescue us. Help us, CWN, you're our only hope! :D
I am not sure I want to watch it now, TTEOTM put some high standards for xianxia...
And I love that they used Mysterious Bird for the last important scene. I'd've rioted if there was any other song used for it.
