I am going to RAVE over the stairs scene if/when they release it, the discussion and wait for the tower scene won't even compare LOL. That is the absolute BEST part for me in the novel (that, and MR's revelation and PAIN. YESSSSSS, MoRan, feel and understand what you had and let go!!!!!!!!!) /totally not being a crazy fan here.

They're actually quite understanding, IMHO. Yes they reacted to finding out TTJ is the intended DG, but before Di Mian got involved, they were trying to control Sect Leader Cen and discussing to wait for more proofs before making a decision. Even AFTER they learned about the weapons, some (definitely more than just his master) were still taking his side. And his master is still trying to calm him.
It's SL Cen and Di Mian doing all the push and shove to get to a quick ending, one for rage and wanting revenge, one for pretending to care about his daughter.

CWN is more tragic, he's my white moonlight in danmei LOL. No, seriously, I don't know if MR will get compared, since CFY's whole vibe is darker even when he's being cute and nice (as a character obviously) so there probably won't be much sympathy for him in the beginning, maybe not even in the end. And since LYX makes such great use of white robes, CWN's styling and some parts of TTJ's styling look similar...

However it ends, this was one the best drama journeys I've ever had, and that's going to be in my final comment for this drama, when it ends.
It feels it's been such a long time from talking-to-crows and having snow-fights and killing former allies and wandering in the Barren Abyss, and losing an eye then getting it back, and the swing under the arch and even since the tower scene... And it's not even been a whole month, either!!
This is what it means to be epic - I hope more others follow in its wake. And now I'm kind of fearing for 2ha, if it ever gets released - it'll have such an immense precursor/competition and people will keep comparing TTJ to CWN LOL, I need CWN to come through for me :D

I wouldn't even mind if they were arguing in good faith, TBH. I mean, I can see the shortcomings too - but the editing got done, the choices were made, what good is to whine over what people not involved with the production FEEL it should've had been included or left off or unchanged or changed and whatnot?!
And seriously, I am of two minds about people complaining about the timeline and details - they're pretty smooth (some small moments aside) and they're discussing it as if EVERY little scene in the damned drama is mixed up and lower than expectations.
This is absolutely one of the best, grandest and most epic xianxia I've ever watched (and I did watch other big xianxia IPs), some people will simply never get satisfied with what they're getting, even if they don't even know any better.

I've read so many freaking comments about the pink dress-white dress-pink dress switcheroo in ep 33, WHAT THE HECK IS SO COMPLICATED, she freaking changed her dress to throw out spelled, bad-smelling water then changed back, she's holding her freaking nose throwing that water, WHAT if they didn't spell it out it's not easy to see?!
It's really frustrating.
Also yeah so they did have to cut a lot of scenes (I bet the production team is the one suffering the most, since they probably already filmed those scenes and spent a lot of money on them so they VERY probably really wanted to include as many as possible) but they had to, let's freaking deal with it and move on!!!!
I've tried to explain about the longer eps and lower eps count that doesn't lead up to all that much cut time in the end, but nope, people don't want to hear that, it's all, "oh so many scenes cut", "too much TTJ, too little LSS/YQY/anybody else", okay, they freaking made their editing choices, let's all just... watch and comment on what they chose then??
I BET most of the other dramas aren't under such a huge magnifying lens, there are some really bad (IMHO) dramas that get lauded to the heavens despite the obvious shortcomings, but no, this one has to be hated on from the beginning, then split to the smallest detail nobody really noticed but saw a discussion over on twtr or weibo and so on and so forth...

I for one don't need it to be faithful to the novel (I won't read it now just because of the complaints in the beginning that TTJ wasn't dark enough and that LSS gets way way more hurt - like raped and beaten and stuff, AS IF China would have ever allowed that in a drama LOL), I don't need for every little detail to be explained to me like I can't see what's going on - seriously, it's not all that damned complicated, what are people on about?!!
And let's not talk about the smooth comments from people whose lists profess they dropped the drama weeks ago and rated it 1 but still come and discuss it as if they're watching it while pretending to enjoy it.

The details are all there to see and understand, do we really need to be led by the nose and have ALL those nonsense details pointed at for us, what the heck! Mo Nv is not pretending to be anything, she's doing demon business, and waiting to entrap Immortals. She explains the whole shop is for the demons to get victims to come to them and not have to go around searching for them...
The TL has some problems - they're obvious in the way they're using names that don't fit any more for people who changed names, but that's the TL's problem.
So... gonna rewatch this as soon as I can. This might be one of the best eps yet.
First off - everybody is a virgin in those Immortal Sects. Why would anyone want to join?! (Though I wonder if MN just planted those memories in GYJW's brain or something actually happened LOL).
Second - it was kind of clear they were gonna trap him with all those people as hostages. Where the heck was LSS for all of this?!
Third - it's not all hopeless. His sect stood by him for the most part, even despite the evidence incriminating him. It might help him resist.
Fourth: still one of the best eps. A whole baggage of emotions and pain - I BET DM is lying somehow.
