It looks very similar, but the one in OOL is in a different color scheme, the upper border is different, and so it the handle of the cup (and not painted either.) And what's so cute about them is that they look more like porcelain mugs, LOL, and not really teacups (they're more in a V shape than in a straight formal one.)

But they're so cute, and even the aliexpress ones are not actually pricey (and look more like the ones in the drama). I think I might indulge :D

I remember how the ML was listening outside the door while one of the "customers" (who wanted to humiliate the MC) tried and couldn't do it, but still beat him up for it. And then, after that guy leaves, the ML gets to hear the MC wash himself and prepare for another so-called "customer". And the ML eventually realizes the MC doesn't remember anything, and leaves. him. there. That turned me off it very very fast.

Not even MoRan allowed anyone else to abuse Shizun, though he, himself...

If it wasn't for the stairs scene (after mending the rift in MoRan's second life), I probably wouldn't have endured 2ha either :D That one part of the story kept me there for the whole painful - and sometimes joyful - length of it. I couldn't wait to see LYX as Shizun, but then the Chinese had to go and add more censorship again. *Sigh*

OMG I know it!!!!!!! I even started it, but it's thousands of times worse (as in, sadistic) than even 2ha (which is quite a high bar to pass, too.) I just... couldn't pass the first few times the MC has to allow himself to be raped as an enslaved prostitute for a guilt that's not even his (yeah I did read spoilers LOL), and seeing the ML allowing it to happen, why the heck would that happen?!

So I took a few steps back and then got involved with (so many many more) other danmei novels, LOL. But maybe sometime, if I feel I want to feel hurt and pain a lot. I don't think I've seen it finished in TL either, so there's time.

No, I don't blame the BL lit on MDZS, I was reading BL and Yaoi for twenty years before I ever happened upon The Untamed. But for the danmei part, yeah, MXTX is to praise LOL. Particularly for MDZS and SVSSS. And there are SO many more other out there! I just found myself a new taste for reincarnation stories LOL.

There are more details to the story, actually. In all of them, the morale is "don't kill the messenger" (particularly when the messenger comes from someone more powerful than you, and unpredictable to boot.)

One of the versions is this:
Genghis Khan saw the potential advantage in Khwarezmia as a commercial trading partner using the Silk Road, and he initially sent a 500-man caravan to establish official trade ties with the empire. However, Inalchuq, the governor of the Khwarezmian city of Otrar, attacked the caravan that came from Mongolia, claiming that the caravan contained spies and therefore was a conspiracy against Khwarezmia. The situation became further complicated because the governor later refused to make repayments for the looting of the caravan and handing over the perpetrators. Genghis Khan then sent again a second group of three ambassadors (two Mongols and a Muslim) to meet the Shah himself instead of the governor Inalchuq. The Shah had all the men shaved and the Muslim beheaded and sent his head back with the two remaining ambassadors. This was seen as an affront and insult to Genghis Khan. Outraged Genghis Khan planned one of his largest invasion campaigns by organizing together around 200,000 soldiers (20 tumens), his most capable generals and some of his sons.

The famous Mongol general Subutai got to eventually track down the fleeing Shah (but he died under mysterious circumstances before he could be caught and made an example of, which was what the Mongols probably intended). Inalchuq, the original offender, got do die with molten metal poured down his throat, poor guy, very much GoT style.

So I guess it's a story better known in China than in the West (because we don't like to be reminded of our military defeats, and Genghis came and basically conquered and looted whatever he wanted, LOL. And it's probably part of Chinese history, since they were already in the Mongol Empire at that time.)

I am basically 10 minutes into ep8 (DVD), and I just got a sugar high from Dr. Gu telling her he's giving her the coat because he's a doctor and doctors prevent illnesses (and then giving himself a little check and small head nod, like he's saying, "Yup, precisely, that's what doctors DO! It's not gonna LOOK suspicious AT ALL!") and I'm all over the floor laughing OMG.

They're too cute. If this keeps up I'll have to watch the episode in parts LOL.

TBH Yok definitely forgave Dan way too fast. He should've punched him a few (dozen) more times. Because of him they ended up in hospital and got kidnapped to be killed. One punch definitely doesn't cover it all.

I kind of would like to watch an offspin of Black/Todd. They're pretty hot together and have this love/kill kind of vibe. I'd definitely want to binge that.

So it's all up in the air if Tawi will get punished or not (probably not), if White's going to go back to being a diplomat, etc... Is it just me of does this series need a sequel? Just putting it out there LOL.

OOT: Cupid's Last Wish has the pair from 1000 Stars, I guess I'll have to watch/ pretending to be forced.

I know, I actually liked Gu Xiao for a hot second in the beginning, but then he showed to be a mama's spoiled little brat who won't take any responsibility for himself... And SanSan, always out in nightclubs and cafes, never working at anything. Ugh!

But by ep7 (original/longer version) things seem to be changing on their side. I hope they both grow up and change for the better.

I was so upset about the antis hard at work at downrating this drama, I seriously considered leaving this site. But in the end, as long as the drama is successful in China, all their efforts here only serve to prove why they have to get another outlet to vent their dissatisaction, so I say, let them be. It doesn't affect anything in real life anyway, at least it can be hilarious for people who actually watch and appreciate this drama that they try so hard and keep failing.

That being said, I won't comment more on this matter. Have at it.

The drama feels - to me - like a refreshing drink of water. There's no overdramatic movement, no bloody feud and unsurmontable blockage that would stop the protagonists from getting close to each other, and so far, it's an extremely relaxing and cute romance. I like the family dynamics, I like the (only apparently) slow romance, I like little QiuQiu, and I very much like that even showing some signs of jealousy, Gao Xi isn't a harpy (she seriously doesn't go out of her way to keep them separate, as any dogblood drama would have her do). I liked Gu Xiao in the beginning, but now I really really hope he gets a redemption and growth arc, instead of taking after his father (hilarious as those revelations were at the time.) I'm even starting to like SanSan's drive, now she's keeping out of nightclubs.

And the tiny theatres at the end are also super cute. I'm not even clamouring to get ahead and watch the TV version (which seems to be lagging a bit in the plot timeline compared to the DVD version anyway), I just can happily wait and watch the DVD full release whenever it's ready.

So yeah - a pick-me-up romance, that's exactly what the doctor ordered for me!

As for unsolved threads - what will happen with the fox promise? Is their relationship done, now that the leads ended up together?

Also, did HaYeon also remember all his past lives? Was his guiding "spirit" also SinBi, but looking as a man? Or was it supposed to be JinHyeok, or was JH not in the reincarnation secret at all?! I first thought it was SinBi and that she was also helping HaYeon find YeonSeok, but it remained unknown. Or did I miss something?
