Trump. Putin. Orban (in Hungary). Erdogan. Netanyahu. That's just for starters and because they're the most visible. The subtler ones are people like Meloni, who would really love to give it a try, but she's not that stupid or courageous (yet). We're not even going to include all the authoritarians who don't even care for being called out because their countries kind of allow it, like the Saudis or the other kings/sheiks/whatever they are still acting like it's full-on Middle Ages came again. Hey, Yoon here, too - instituting Martial Law because his wife is corrupted and he didn't want to have her go to a trial for it. That's pretty democratic ain't it (because a state of martial law kind of suspends ALL rights and the army gets to do whatever unpunished (luckily they were the only cool-headed ones that night). And not even about to make the SK/NK cold war into a hot one again.
I am an European. Even I know about the 5th Ammendment (the US movies made sure of that, even if in most cases it's about self-incrimination). But there's also the part where it says that you can't be held without due process, with no qualification that it would apply only to citizens, it applies to all persons. I'm not a lawyer... but one can't help but wonder how come people get disappeared from the streets of the world's most vociferous "freedom-loving" country as if they're innanimate objects and not persons. Who used to have rights, but not any more, because the complacent are allowing it.
I'm sure they'll enjoy it when it comes to their own turn to be disappeared. Martin Niemoller got it in one, after first falling for it, too.
Woke advocates are narcissistic. And leftists have to be woke.Do you know why?Because leftists believe the left…
Where are those good people on the right lately then? It's been so quiet on that side while the authoritarians/would-be dictators and the far-right are walking all over other people's rights, and when it's not quiet, it's a resounding approval for the extremists. Where are the protests of the right (center, assuming) on the breaking of the social contract and the removal of HUMAN rights? (I don't mean the US only, either - there's plenty to choose from, some pretty obvious and some pretty insidious but always present. Case in point this article here, if one needs examples.)
Let's not talk about manipulation/propaganda when most of the media is controlled by the richest people and all of them are supporting the far-right throughout the world. We all know big words to use for the right (centre or not) - words like misinformation and projection, for example. There are no saints and devils in this one. But it's just one of the political aisle that called empathy a sin.

Appeasement NEVER works. Empathy is NOT evil. All human rights were gained through sweat, tears and blood and when you're not defending them (for you AND all the others) you're bound to lose them.
On a site where there's talk of political dramas any given day... we shouldn't talk about real-life issues because…
Yeah, they just managed to VAT themselves against the rest of the whole world, including uninhabited islands. The level of incompetency and pure cowardice from everyone surrounding him is beyond a measurable range. Whatever, they're going to get to the FO phase sooner or later.
You know, when we were in school learning about what lead to WWII we used to disbelief the easy way German citizens just kind of... let it happen (besides those who were actually contributing to the problem). Now we get such a process in real time, it's not so unbelievable anymore, sadly. The apathy from those who could have a say in it is astounding. Oh well, I guess the world had it good (most parts of it, anyway) for a while. Maybe the radioactive cockroaches will make a better world next, LOL.
After ep10 - WITAF did I just watch... I'm hanging on to just finish it, since I really liked the beginning, but it's turning into a painful struggle. Let's just hope the final eps redeem the original plot a bit. Maybe 2x will help.
You don't know he didn't set everything up because he wants to have HID by the neck (maybe they're filming or…
I want GuHo to kill him (even by accident, LOL) because just imagine Yeom's face if it happens :D
As for why the bullets could be blanks (maybe they were real and HID's usual luck when trying to kill SDJ made him target the body and not the head, and by now SDJ expects assassination attemps and wore a bulletproof vest) - first, the 2 trillions are still being controlled by SDJ. He even said so - if he gave them some of the money to show his good intentions, he did it to prove he still has the password but didn't give them a lot or the access to the actual account. And second, now SeonWoo is inside DaeSan, he needs all the help he can get to work through the ranks ASAP before Chairman Cha kicks the bucket or goes completely afflicted by his dementia. SDJ was always on SeonWoo's side and knows all the ropes, it makes sense to have SDJ guide SeonWoo until he's not needed any more, and then Yeom could (try to) get rid of him.
Happily there're still 4 more eps left, there's time to tie up all loose ends and bring it to a satisfying end.
You know the comments on here will get shut down. MDL should avoid political articles. It never ends well.
On a site where there's talk of political dramas any given day... we shouldn't talk about real-life issues because politics.
Then maybe there shouldn't be talk about the doctors' strike, or about the military laws of SK (that take 2 years out if each and every actor's life), or about the laws that allow a drug offender to rot in prison but a rapist can just chill out for a few years and then return to the industry clean as snow. Or about Xinjiang. Or about the Moonies or Christians or Buddhists (because they're never in a drama). Or about the Uighurs in general. Or about...
I think you all get the idea. Let others muzzle you and protest it, don't muzzle yourself.
This is makjang. If you've watched the genre before you know what it is. What it is not, is rom-com as per usual, or thriller as expectations. Expect makjang and enjoy it as is, over the top events and larger than life emotions all included.
And truthfully it doesn’t matter they aren’t biological siblings THEY STILL SHARE A SIBLING why is no one…
They would be step-sibling by law only if HID recognised SDJ legally as his son. By blood, there's ZERO connection between them.
And seriously it doesn't even matter - they didn't grow up together as siblings, don't have a shared past, met as strangers and fell in love as strangers. There's no blood connection between them so the possible fact that TaeYun shares one parent with each means nothing. At most TaeYun would be bothered because he did grow up with EunNam so he should be seeing her more like HIS sister than seeing SDJ as his brother, LOL.
SeonWoo is calling Chairman Cha (who's supposedly his own father) by "halabeoji", which means grandpa (not necessarily your own, more like a polite term towards an elder LOL). And he kept calling him so even after he learned he's his father LOL. And then he started calling each family member by their titles LOL, he's hilariously rude like that :D
Started this past weekend and caught up ... why would dong ju show up at that location for he meet up 😂 we…
You don't know he didn't set everything up because he wants to have HID by the neck (maybe they're filming or something and would use that to blackmail him). Or maybe he just wanted to clear up the genealogy and showed up prepared for any trick HID could think of. He HAD given him an ultimatum.
Yeom JangSeon called HID to tell him he was killing his own son, right after HID pulled the trigger LOL - because 1. Yeom is a sadist and 2. He had given the gun (and bullets) to HID - wanna bet he gave him blanks, probably? If SDJ didn't arrange for someone to film this, Yeom pretty certainly did.
The test from way back that HID got before pushing the car off the shoulder of the road has Yeo SunHo (EunNam's father) as SeongHyeon's father too. I think the test that SDJ got is maybe one he arranged, so that the later one is actually real and the one HID got in the past was faked (because Yeom wanted him to marry into the Cha family and be his monkey paw into the conglomerate funds).
Gun Atthaphan in a new series, finally? Yes I'll sign right up. (And it's not even a BL, or at least it doesn't…
So Dream is main cast, she can't die so fast right? And the synopsis says BOTH of the MLs are born in the same day, and they're both cursed for it. I was wondering how come Day knew about Night's curse.
Anyway - other than autistic people getting a supernatural sense that makes them communicate with the stars, LOL, this is pretty interesting for an opening ep. And I don't care - Gun's in, I'm in. I just hope the plot makes sense and allows all the cast to show their abilities.
Gun Atthaphan in a new series, finally? Yes I'll sign right up.
(And it's not even a BL, or at least it doesn't look like it).
Things to notice so far (ep 1): Gun is good. Dew is also very good (never watched him in anything before but he's also grabbed my attention). This starts as well as 4Minutes, hopefully it won't devolve into a mess as that one by the end. The main scenographer / cinematographer or whoever is responsible for framing and close shots should get his/her license revised (because seriously they were in Pond's face basically every other scene.)
ETA WAIT I JUST ONLY NOW READ THE SYNOPSIS. Oh, NOW I get it, LOL
That title is pretty convoluted, at first I thought she was supporting protestors in favour of Yoon, but the article shows it's the other way around.
Anyway, here's hoping on Thursday the judges show some spine and do the right thing. There's enough corruption and authoritarians in power in the world already, they should be democratically removed when they do stuff like Yoon did.
So, I myself am a woman, but this got really cringey by the end.Like... what the actual f!ck is all that emasculation…
I don't really care, LOL, I'm a desktop warrior who doesn't mind cross-commenting but I never saw him in anything yet, so ZKL fans, come at me. I still have some ban powers on MDL :D
Looking at that picture, it's not just the mane... the eyes. He also has great eyes. And he's pretty tall. And I guess it doesn't hurt he can actually act, LOL. He and Meng ZhiYi fit perfectly together (I had liked her since TU, but she had a lot more to work with in Blossom, I hope more doors open and she get another or more chances to act in a costume drama.)
I guess we're just lucky China remembered they can do lots of great dramas, and there's a whole generation of new and old(er) actors and actresses who can act AND be eyecandy at the same time :D

ZKL seems to be SML on Rebirth and I've no idea what they're doing with it, haven't watched Princess Agents and won't ever (not sorry, I don't like the FL as in, at all.)
If Rebirth is another transmigration, then LYR is doing it again - in Blossom I think he too would remember (in the novel) though in the drama he didn't. Anyway I don't care, I'm shallow, I'll watch it for the mane of glory if for anything, LOL (he's not even my type I don't know why I'm so attractred to him, must be the hair :D)
Also I really REALLY like rebirth/revenge stories (though I mostly read danmei, usually the het xianxia are too syrupy for me :D) So here's hoping if they're re-doing the same story they don't try to make it so different that it turns into Sailor Moon and some extra MLs LOL, and if they're doing something new, I won't even be reading the comments because everybody who did watch PA will come in with some complaint (they already complained in the news article when the trailer dropped, saying the FL is too young - like who cares?! If there's little to no romance - yay! - it won't matter if she's underage. If there's some romance, I mean, we've all been teens. We've all had crushes. As long as the ML or any other older character doesn't act on it, it's all good I guess. More time for the mane of glory to wave in the wind LOL.
But WHY did he run away?!! He's the Gordon Ramsay of killers, he KNOWS how to take the knife from her... WHY IS…
Despite all super hero movies or bad-ass female fighters, for someone like a pretty house-bound Ancient China concubine, there's a nil chance she could out-fight her husband, even if he was weakened by hunger and being locked up. I mean, he WAS running away, the strength is still there, LOL.
Her daughter, who is much more athletic and much stronger from her riding days, has no chance against her own husband - she strikes and runs (at least she was smart for that). Her mother being an avenging ghost makes no sense.
But oh well, I guess the FL needs to stay snow-pure so she could be the mother the little kid needs and leave all the killing (if more is needed) to side-charas or her husband. Or stuff. *sigh*. It started out so well. And even went on so well... until the writer discovered 'shrooms, or something. I guess he just forgot about the FL's hairpin...
And they would have used those crossbows too but sadly bamboo got in the way. And they were out-ridden and out-smarted…
Song Mo, any time the baby does ANYTHING: "Look, look, he OPENED HIS EYES!!!" ~Amaaaaazing~~~~~ or "Look, look, he just burped!!"
No seriously, he's cute. (And Lin YunRui is drop-dead gorgeous, both white and black-haired. I don't care, I'm watching Rebirth even if it's a remake and I don't understand anything, if only for him :D
