It's the fact that Dong Ju found out that his father is Eunnam's too but in the picture, it's clearly showed a…
The woman (SDJ's mom) is surnamed Chu (I don't remember the rest) and she was working at a club. It's heavily implied Yeo SunHo is the father of her son. YSH, HID, DeokHui (married to YSH), presumably Madam/Miss Chu were all there to celebrate Kang Seong's first official job or something (he's Dr. Kang's father, he's a landscape artist).
For some reason - wanna bet it's because she didn't want to stand next to Mme Chu? - DeokHui is the one taking the picture, and for some other VERY strange reason, it's YSH holding young SeongHyeon/SDJ in his arms. And the kid is familiar enough with him to ask to be held again.
And Mme Yeom ALSO knows him and recognised his picture from all those years ago, so their acquaintance wasn't something random or short. She knew him well.
I think EunNam is HID's bio daughter, and so she and SDJ have no blood relationship. He doesn't know though and now he's panicking over having had sexual relations with his half-sister (he thinks she is) for at least one year.
LOL, she just totally destroyed his world. YEN, oh YEN... there are no words. At least this time she did it without…
What the hell was that, is SeonWoo's mom related to Yeom?!!! NOOOOOO!!!!
Also, when SDJ and his island saviour I forget his name were talking on the street... did anyone else feel like that was definitely a last-word-among-friends before the character is killed, LOL? :D
OH NOES THE INFAMOUS KOPIKO!!!#@@!~~ ISTG I'll never ever try that thing even if it comes with a money gift from them just to try it. At this point that PPL is already a meme itself, what's one more trope LOL
So I was right Yeo SunHo is SDJ's father... and I bet I'll turn out right that he isn't EunNam's father too. (Because, no, seriously, incest romance is heavily frowned upon not just in SK, LOL, they'd never ever allow that twist. AFAIK, there's precisely one yaoi manga where that was allowed to go on after the reveal, and one of the brothers continued not knowing. If you want to see it - look up Minase Masara's Uso to Kiss. But you've been warned so don't come back complaining about the ending.)
OMG I am almost feeling sad for HID... so he was one of those rounded up in the student protests from not that long ago when SK wasn't a democracy yet (only about 30-some years ago, for those who still don't know) and Yeom tortured him into compliance and made a minion out of him. Could his involvment in Yeo SunHo's fate be due to him being recruited by Yeom?!
When Yeom mentioned HID being too fond OF HIS OWN SON, did that sound like a very clear threat to you? 'Cause it sure did to me. I think HID will break if Yeom keeps threatening TaeYun.
Why did all the people around SDJ keep all those secrets though?! Why didn't anybody go to the police when a random kid just showed up at their house?! I mean he's not a freaking stray cat, though I joked about him being an alley tomcat! Did they maybe try to find his parents but couldn't? But why wouldn't they at least TELL him he's not in any way related to the family that DIED around him in that car?! Because those were YeonJoo's parents, not his at all.
And if his father is certainly dead... what if his MOTHER is not?!
LOL, she just totally destroyed his world. YEN, oh YEN... there are no words. At least this time she did it without knowing in advance. Oh well. I hope he moves away from her ASAP and maybe finds Dr. Kang around, just sayin'.
Also, could everybody please just... get another hobby other than planning (and failing) to murder DongJoo?!
ETA I keep labelling her CEN and not YEN, LOL, 'cause in my mind she's a Cha family daughter and not a Yeo hahaha~ I'll have to pay more attention in the future :D
I told you, this is the best makjang thriller ever :D (way better than anything Si Jin had in store, allowing…
Haven't had time to watch 10th, it seems the mystery should become clearer with this ep. I don't want to try guessing now, until I've seen it (though I had an idea, don't know if it'll turn out to be true LOL).
I told you, this is the best makjang thriller ever :D (way better than anything Si Jin had in store, allowing…
If you already dived in... dive deeper :D The more fun is with weekly cliffhangers and messed-up plot twists :D (and everybody going mental over what the hell is going on LOL).
I told you, this is the best makjang thriller ever :D (way better than anything Si Jin had in store, allowing…
The cat didn't register the first ep 'cause I was looking at his face, but LOL it makes so much sense he would be petting the oneorangebraincell :D
So, just a hint so you don't get frustrated - EunNam is prone to VERY BAD CHOICES. Like, a lot of them. So don't get mad at her for being very oneorangebraincell-y herself, hahaha~
DongJoo on the other hand is an alley tomcat - he has AT LEAST 9 lives, maybe more, and he's going to need all of them to get out of it alive :D
Another warning - expect tropes (because this is very makjang, and this genre lives on tropes.) While they're tropey, they're also addictive. AND THE MUSIC IS THE BESTEST EVER :D (there's a discussion topic above where you can find the links to the OSTs out so far, and they're worth it. We had to wait 4 weeks for Break Through, you're lucky :D)
I don't understand why the ratings of Undercover High School are falling. This drama is absolutely amazing. I'm…
I liked the premise and the first eps were very good. But then the NIS plotline fizzled, she became interested in him way before knowing he wasn't an underaged student and that (I'm not sorry to say it) is a very big icky factor to me, the chairwoman's plotline is becoming unhinged - what, she's always been crazy but now it's crazy all over and nobody bats an eye?! and I don't like the romance (that's on me, I didn't start watching it for the romcom and obviously that is not the same for everyone else).
So if more people are like me, no wonder it stays at the same level (the ratings didn't drop, it just stopped growing.) They were rising while things were interesting (and SKJ was pretty interesting to look at too LOL), but I guess people who came in for the action - like me - aren't romcom fans, and the romcom fans didn't get into it because there was action or something, IDK.
There's still time for the ratings to rise, though, but for me it's on the backburner and I don't really feel motivated to watch it as soon as it airs.
the rating is still 8.3 how is this most watched drama with 12% lol
MDL ratings take into account episode ratings, and there are a few dedicated people who are rating them very low and have since it's beginning. I've gone through a few profiles and it's kind of obvious there's a ratings battle between this one and another still airing drama.
BUT since MDL isn't taking any measures and after all, if they want to go all battle on it, let them - the most important thing is if you're enjoying it, with all its best and worse parts.
If you want to compensate or redress the ratings a bit, you can rate the individual eps on Episode Guide, where you need to click on the Review and rate it (you don't need to actually write a review if you don't want to), and only then it'll register. Or you can leave it as it - again, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter LOL, the series seems to be at least decently successful in SK and that's all that will matter to the production team and the cast.
Can someone spoiler the plot for me a bit? The premise says he wants to "consume" Daesan Group is it becouse of…
By ep9 it's clear he came in DaeSan with a plot and EunNam happened later (took him by surprise and diverted parts of his plan).
Everything happening after the marriage is plan correction, plan correction again, plan change, okay full-time revenge LOL. If in the beginning he wanted to take over or somehow destroy it, now it's all SDJ against the world (or most of it anyway.)
Wow. First episode watched. How can this show be so riveting? If I were to describe it to someone I would thing…
I told you, this is the best makjang thriller ever :D (way better than anything Si Jin had in store, allowing for the difference in genres, obviously). Enjoy the ride, it's going to be wild :D
I haven't seen the orange cat in that picture yet, maybe the kitty was just a prop LOL.
This was the simplest tropey love story (and filmed vertically, which is not something I enjoy usually), but there's all the charm in the world in it. The MLs are both cute beyond words, the story is flawless (even if simple, it doesn't need twists and turns to be good), a surprisingly good production overall.
Thanks to whoever reviewed last here, because if I hadn't seen that review, I wouldn't have tried it LOL. But it was very good :D
(If anyone knows the rest of the cast, please add them here, they were ALL very good, which was double surprising LOL. I seriously never expected it).
PS Why the heck does it have a 18+ rating though?!
He's Chu SeongHyeon - the only name SDJ remembered when he was amnesic - his childhood name. DeokHui and Secretary…
Well... IF. Who knows, makjang allows for the universe to turn itself from the inside out in the interest of making the story more twisty, LOL.
On the other hand, quoting great philosopher Yondu Udonta, "he [HID] might have been her father, bur he wasn't her daddy". I think her revenge is still warranted, because Yeo SunHo was her daddy, if she ever takes revenge (she seems a bit stuck).
He's Chu SeongHyeon - the only name SDJ remembered when he was amnesic - his childhood name. DeokHui and Secretary…
No, I think she did it because the husband might have intended to divorce her and cause a whole scandal. There's never any love lost in a chaebol marriage, in dramas, anyway. She was having an affair with Il-Do (I think EunNam is his bio daughter, though she got DeokHui's husband's name), so maybe the husband had proof of an affair.
It was twenty years ago, a bastard child would have completely cut off CDH's chances to ever be in the inheritance list in any important manner. So she had to get rid of the husband, married her AP because she probably actually loved him at least at that time, and then had another child by him - TaeYun who was until now the only boy in the grandkids generation so he had a very strong chance to inherit the business (because the older son is a doctor and isn't any good with business, Il-Do is not blood even if he is a businessman, and TaeYun seemed like the only logical option).
At least until SeongWoo appeared out of the blue, and he's still young enough he has time to choose to go into business, thus cutting off DeokHui's branch again. That's the reason she's so waspish with him.
He's Chu SeongHyeon - the only name SDJ remembered when he was amnesic - his childhood name. DeokHui and Secretary…
No, it was a hypothesis in the beginning, when he first (second?! LOL) lost his memory and could only remember his childhood name, and Sec. Gong was having a strong reaction to finding that out. It turns out she and DeokHui thought the child should have died, which means maybe she helped CDH arrange the accident where SDJ's mom died.
Stocks crashing because someone is missing, what nonsense is that?!
Because if 1. he's missing it's one thing, but then 2. they start digging up why is he missing (because that info sells). And if he has dementia that means the conglomerate top level is in flux, which means the shares aren't stable and could trigger a sell-off. Which in turn will bring the value of a share down and maybe bring on more losses until the whole conglomerate is at stake.
It doesn't have to be because of an illness, any kind of scandal will do the same to the shares. Just look what's happening with TSLA right now because it's most important stockholder happens to be a nazi.
