Looks like the child coming precipitated the wedding, as usual. It's really a long marriage, all things considered. Anyway, It's their own private matter in the end, so good luck to them and hopefully the child doesn't suffer much.
Perfect Match (2024) (six sisters with not much dowry, all need to marry, costume drama romcom, feels very much…
It's fantasy/isekai though. For another example,The Untamed isn't a fantasy with gods and other supernaturals and it's still xianxia, too. I think xianxia isn't restricted to the three realms LOL.
Also, hanging out with the princess on a date all alone… how is that remotely ok in their world, even with him…
The nanny was probably writing messages back to NanWu like crazy, an encyclopedia of notes that she had had no time to send yet. LOL. I'm imagining her at a telegraph station, writing Morse Code like nobody's business :D
Please y'all which cdrama can you recommend please 🥺 2024 or 2025 not new days. Please 🥺 Currently watching…
Perfect Match (2024) (six sisters with not much dowry, all need to marry, costume drama romcom, feels very much like a Chinese version of Pride and Prejudice)
Destined (2023) (girl marries someone she thinks a rascal, finds true love instead, costume drama, romcom plus some action)
New Life Begins (2022) (same ML as Destined, girls from all regions of the empire have to come to a marriage selection and would have to stay for at least a year even if they decide not to continue the marriage. It involves girls cooperating to find their way in a patriarchal world - costume drama, romcom)
The Romance of Tiger and Rose (2020) (xianxia, isekai, girl travels to a fantasy world where she gets to play a role in her own drama script, but as a vilain, LOL. Trouble is she's trying to survive and gets the attention of the prince that she wrote in as quite stubborn and he stubbornly fixes on her instead of the FL - costume drama, romcom (very much so), HEA, just in case you were wondering.)
These are based only on being a bit similar to Si Jin. If you want more recs... what are you interested in? :D
Finally all caught up. The second half is way better than the first - more put together, they all found their…
I hope Zhen Heng is about to announce MingYue's promise to Yi's ex, LOL. Just for the laughs.
Yu Jin's kneeling protest (complete with the rain) reminds me of that protest in Moon Lovers LOL, when the FL was kneeling to beg for that woman's life. Now if Jang Si comes to hold an umbrella over him... that would be perfect :D (it won't happen, the rain passed and he's about the pass out too LOL). But still...
The second half is way better than the first - more put together, they all found their acting stride, no more jumping from one plotline to another. I like it a lot.
So did I get it straight... it's actually the CHAIRWOMAN who put them all to the task?!I had this impression she…
She may have been too busy with meeting the other parents who are in. And the school mid-terms or whatever they were might not be included in the rigged exams list - those seemed to be more of the type of exams that would add an extra advantage when trying to enroll in certain universities.
Hey aren't you that person who finds something at fault with every drama under the sun and then some (including this one)? I've seen your comments before.
Please get a life. I'll watch whatever I want to watch, thanks, and I hope you do the same.
Maybe off topic: does anyone know the difference between calculation of ratings in paid networks like tvn/jtbc…
For one thing, higher ratings in dramas airing on paid networks (cable) like TvN are showing a good success for the drama (since they're paying for the ads). On the other hand though, a higher rating for a drama airing on a ~free~ network also has a lot more exposure (in total numbers, since it's free) and leads to earnings (they obviously aren't doing it for the sake of artistic development). But the percentages that mean "high ratings" are way different. Something that get 5-10% on tvN is good, while under 3% it's probably a flop (ratings-wise anyway). For SBS, they need to go higher. Free-to-air used to get as high as 30-40% ratings (which only means how many people watched, not that they liked it, LOL), but now with the changing habits of viewers, going above 10% (and as high as possible) is noted as good ratings.
Now media is consumed differently, so whenever there's another option (like pay-to-watch, or OTT networks airing at the same time, like D+, NF, etc) the data is skewed. Most younger people watch dramas OTT, but ratings are usually based on TV devices (that older people still use) and on what the networks themselves report. So it's tricky.
Again... this counts only domestic audience. I don't know if they ever count the international audience (they're measuring audience in the interest of commercial success LOL, SK would buy what they're advertising in those dramas, not the rest of the world.)
ETA2 Now you've made me curious so I went to check. Previous dramas from SBS in the same timeslot were averaging around 10% overall (Love Scout, Fiery Priest 2, The Judge from Hell - this one surprised me, there was so much hype on MDL I thought it would be way higher.) Good Partner made over 12-14% average, though (and it's not well-rated, but it got the audience), while Connection made around 9%. Even Flex X Cop only averaged around 8% and My Demon got around 4% LOL.
So that means that if Buried Hearts keeps growing and ends with a 10-11% rating average... it's a regular SBS drama. If it goes above... well then. But we'll see. They have another half to grow or fall.
Ep8 is a bit better, less silly rom-com, more serious plot. I liked it.
So did I get it straight... it's actually the CHAIRWOMAN who put them all to the task?!
I had this impression she got wind of it from someone in NIS, but it looks like - or at least that's what HaeSong thinks - that it was her plan from the very beginning, she picked the personnel in charge (that means him), knew all about it, just put them on the scent and waited for them to find the prey (the hidden gold).
And it definitely looks like Mr. An is way too deep - I guess that's how he affords to put his daughter in this school. If it's true, it'll be a sad thing for HaeSong.
My out of this world theory is that whoever stabbed the FL is either Mr. An (most probably) or ML's dad, fantastically risen from the dead or something. Though TBH I am not all that invested anymore in that plotline. We're on the last stretch and it keeps devolving into romance so I'm... kind of losing interest.

ETA Drama wiki says his name is Zhou Tian Yu (周天宇)) but doesn't have a page for him. He might be new.

There's a tumblr explanation that tries to point the nuances, but most of their outlinks don't work LOL. https://www.tumblr.com/kdramaxoxo/631915004564733952/do-you-know-anything-about-kdrama-ratings-im-new
ETA Here's Nielsen's ratings page, BH is second most-watched after the weekend drama (Eagle Brothers - take notice weekenders are ALWAYS higher-rated than short-form dramas):
