I've never seen the lead female act in anything else, but I don't mind her emotionlessness. I rarely see stoic female characters in dramas, so it's something different for me. I'm willing to forgive the newbie-level acting because I'm actually down for the storyline. The romance that's supposed to exist between Chen Chang Shen is kinda just whatever for me. I care more about Chen Chang Shen's character development and his whole "altering his destiny" thing than I do about his relationship with You Rong. Tbh if she died and it caused Chang Shen to go through crazy drama and then just unleash and go on a rampage, I'd be just as content. haha I don't particulary like or dislike You Rong. I appreciate her character's confidence and sense of duty a lot, but I don't focus on her character enough for it to detract from the show's entertainment for me.
I'm excited to see more of Dijun on the screen in EL. He and Li Jing are my fav male characters...so far.
I don't find the acting to be that good in Eternal Love aside from Mo Yuan, personally. The storyline itself is also a little "meh" to me. That said, I'm not too far into Eternal Love, so maybe I just need to keep at it for my opinion to change, but I'm definitely more interested in this show right now. Among the female characters, Luo Luo is my least favorite. It's mostly because I hate her voice, but I'm also not a fan of overly "bubbly" personalities.
What I like about this series is that there's a decent storyline surrounding a romance. For me, Eternal Love is just Mo Yuan and Bai Qian mundanely interacting with each other which is fine, I don't mind simple romances, but it makes the rest of the story which contains like 30 other people seem irrelevant. Again, I'm not even a third of the way through EL, so maybe I'm being too harsh too soon, but that's how it's coming off to me.
I enjoy virtually every female character in this show so far (ep. 10). They're confident and they make resolute decisions without hesitation. They also kick ass. I love it. I'm also really enjoying Chen Chang Shen's humility. You just want to give him a hug every time you see him. Xuan Yuan Po and Tang 36 are really cute and funny and help to keep everything light-hearted. So far, so good. :)
The acting in this series is a lot better than one would expect. The side stories were a little confusing and unnecessary at times, but the interaction between the leads makes up for that well. I appreciate the fact that we get to see the main couple happy together throughout the majority of the series. So many other BL/bromance series have have so much conflict between the leads throughout the majority of the series, so you don't really get to see them in love. Very well done.

Oh, okay, then this isn't for you. The lover of the king falls in love/lust with the queen. Things come to a head when the king catches them having sex and has the lover's penis cut off (very dramatic and tragic scene). In the end, the lover and the king have a pretty epic sword battle and kill each other.

Yes, the king is quite gay. So gay that he literally can't get it up to have sex with his wife in order to produce an heir to the throne. So, he gets his pupil/bodyguard/lover/best friend to do it and the drama ensues from there. Enjoy. ^_^
A classic fantasy storyline with adorable, fresh actors. I wish they pushed the romantic aspect a little (a lot) further and went into some more detail with the Lu Yin-Shen Yan relationship, but overall it was alright.
