My expectations were way too high for this drama and I put of watching it for a long time. I just finished it but I was planning to watch it since news of the show came out. My high expectations ruined my experience of this show. It was not as good as I expected, an 8/10 overall.
There were two things i really did NOT want to happen in this drama: 1) King's guard Ga On to die 2) SFL's to be annoying or evil, especially Ha Kyung. And I am so HAPPY that neither happened.
Out of all the guys, Ga On was the one who had me HOOKED, did not know he was a main lead until after finishing the drama, he seemed like support in the first several episodes.
I LOVED Ha Kyung, especially at the end. She was so damn SWEET, and I loved her feelings for the King, even after knowing who the King actually was, she didn't resent her one bit and, I think still thought of the King in the same way (more or less).
This drama really DRAGGED and for no reason. The plot got annoying and repetitive and the FL kept going back and forth with her decisions. I didn't hate anyone more than I hated the SFL and skipped almost all her scenes. Loved the ML and LOVED all the actors.
I had this weird thought that maybe, just maybe it would have a twist & Jack would be our real world game developer…
The theory makes sense since Jack sort of had control over the game. I thought so too until we saw flashbacks of the day of the accident. We saw her go into the restaurant and the side profile of her blind date (who was the modern day ML in glasses). Gave up hope after that.
Does The Princess Wei Young have a happy ending? I thought The Princess Wei Young had a sad ending. I accidentally saw a spoiler of the ending and thought it was a sad one where the leads don't end up together, that's why I couldn't finish it.
A cast full of baby faces. Especially for historical dramas, since they tend to be more serious, I can't watch it when the leads look like teenagers when their characters are not.
Watched 10 episodes and then skipped to the last. I wouldn't say it was boring, the plot was getting annoying and I skipped because I knew they will make the SFL (the sister) evil.
Two of my favourite actors as the leads, couldn't imagine Yang Yang and Zhao Lusi together as leads in a drama until I saw the trailer for this. Does anyone know when it's going to be released?
The script was okay other than just about all of Dylan's lines. ALL his lines were just CRINGE. The dubbing of this movie did not bother me, I'm use to it, thought it would bother me since it's Dylan. It did not. But most of his lines were just 😖.
I didn't realise she was so young. She looks it, yes. But I know her from so many dramas that are several years old, and she played a lot of main roles.
If I didn't read the tag that it was historical, I really wouldn't have guessed from the drama. Though it does explain a lot of the sexism, I just thought it was because it was Thai that it was so sexist.
