Unfortunately, this is the problem of averaging. It is very susceptible to outliers, i.e. 1.0 ratings submitted by aholes or fanatical wokes who did not even try to watch the drama. A better solution would be to use the statical median as it reflects the most common or "middle" ratings of viewers. The ratings does a disservice to people who trust it and will likely miss a very good drama.

But because this is 5 short stories strung together, they could have used all the allocated time. QiongNu's story especially needs one or two extra episodes.
The rating here at MDL is criminally low, thought it would rise after the show ends. I've seen mediocre kdramas that get better rating than this. I think the initial hate campaign and slow start hurt the ratings. This is one of the best cdramas available on Netflix right now. For once, a drama ends on a high rather than crash landing.
