This show deserves more buzz...

It's got pretty good TV ratings but it's not trending here or elsewhere, kind of the reverse of Lovely Runne situations. So few comments and quiet here but on the positive side, fewer trolls and much less negative toxicity.

Thanks for your detailed answer, I get your point on using visual metaphors but sorry, I still think using not very good CGI cheapens it a bit. It could be done in other ways with live actors.
Other than that particular scene, the rest of the show has been very good visually.
I am not an arts person but am a bit of a Kurosawa fan, Which of his works were you referring to?
Also in which episodes does The Double evoke old school scrolls? I'm still in the early episodes but I'll watch out for them.

Sigh...I think the music instrument contest between FL and her sister was over the top especially the CGI. This is supposed to be a realistic historical drama, not those cringy fantasy fairy and demon type of drama...

I really admire historical cdramas sets(and costumes) .They make kdrama ones look like hovels. What dynasty or era is this drama based in. looks a bit like Tang or Song but haven't seen before beads glued on the ladies face during the pin ceremony.

Did I miss the scene where the heroine escape from her "grave" or is it revealed later?
I've been a bit guilty of pressing the remote fast forward button too much, I can't now seem to find the scene in the first 6 episodes that Netflix has dumped so far.

Well at least the actresses that portray the real daughter (that died) and her maid look closer to being teens. I'm not against the main actress or anything but it does take a teeny bit of suspension of belief.
Now if they add time travel to the plot later, I'll give it a pass :-).

Hmmm..I think the lead actress looks too mature to masquerade or hide her identity as a teen daughter of the xiang family.

I was pointing how low budget the show is. Except for sanjae case, it actually makes the scenario more realistic, rather than everyone totting the same and latest Samsung flip phones,Or eating at subways lol...

Don't try to use logic in a time travel show. Logic of causality (cause and effect) are always violated. It never works in Star Trek, Dr Who , Marvel...unless you hypothesize about existence of multi-verse and we don't want to go down that rabbit hole.
Just go with the flow.

Just finished the show. My wife loves it.
One thing that strikes me as incredulous in the last few episodes is, why "superstar idol" SunJae still using iphone12 in 2023? Maybe he is a super prudent guy or the director has no budget and has to use his kid's phone as a prop...

Oh, I'm sure Casio would be pleased to have the full name there. The square DW5600 series is among theleast expensive and best bang for the buck gshock. Just don't buy the negative display type. Unlike the FL, you won't see anything in low light without pressing the light button.

Even better that the show was so successful, Good for the actors and writer! This drama is in the goldilocks zone, where the sum is greater than the parts , unfortunately unlike the recently ended series QoT where the good acting is letdown by the script.

Just wondering, did Casio sponsor the series via product placement? Must be good return for the money, I bet GShock sales have shot up, although the square Gshock its already an iconic design.
