actually his character in True Beauty has more depth and emotions and i think he did really well but in My ID…
I think his next role should be as the cold, reserved boyfriend of a beautiful girl who used to be obese before she got bariatric surgery, and then he can further practice this role and master it even more.
I'm only on ep3, but I just realized that Cha Eun Woo is playing the EXACT SAME CHARACTER that he played in My ID Is Gangnam Beauty. I guess he doesn't mind being type-cast.
I just watched You Are the Apple of My Eye, and since the original Taiwanese version came out several years before this movie, it seems like On Your Wedding Day was "inspired" by that earlier story. However, I think the execution of the Korean movie was far superior to that of either the Taiwanese or Japanese versions of Apple.
This was a very good movie, just like the other Hur Jin Ho movies I've seen. But it was very painful to watch. Eun Hee deserved way better. Yeong Su was bad news, but Eun Hee should have known this right when she first saw him, so it's partially her fault. But unfortunately, there are lots of people exactly like him, so it was very realistic. Also, both Im Soo Jung and Gong Hyo Jin looked amazing in this.
Both of Park Chan Ok's movies, this and Paju, are 2 of the greatest Korean movies I've ever seen. What an amazing talent. I don't know why she hasn't made movies in many years, but I hope she returns to filmmaking.
Ae Ri's mom is totally annoying. Why did she just sit on this evidence for decades? And then, instead of going to the police like a normal person, she tries to use it for blackmail, endangering herself, her beloved daughter, and Jin Ho. How stupid and greedy can you be? And why didn't Hyun Chae just pay Taek Kyu to kill off her dad? And how come the incriminating voice recording from the future didn't dissolve away when the timeline changed so that the meeting when Seo Jin is thrown off the building never happened?
And since that falling off the building timeline changed, that means Seo Jin is still alive a month later and can still take phone calls from Ae Ri. So they should continue to take advantage of this magic power, buying more lottery tickets, playing the stock market, betting on horses, etc. Also, Seo Jin is the only ML I can think of who doesn't have a best friend (or any friend at all). But clearly Seo Jin and Geon Wook are going to have to eventually fight it out over Ae Ri. If Geon Wook loses, he can at least settle for Soo Jung, so I hope Seo Jin wins, since he doesn't have any fallback options. Minor questions aside, this show was really tightly plotted, addictive, and entertaining.
I think the movie was better and had more emotional impact (tears), but the drama had more detail and extra characters, so I'm glad I watched both. Now I need to read the book. I like the fact that, even though the premise is pure fantasy and has been used many times before, they took the premise seriously and tried to portray realistic consequences of this magical plot device.
The ending makes no sense whatsoever. Does the gangster boss not know he's still alive? Rule #78 in kdramas is if the male lead is stabbed in the gut near the end of the series, don't worry because he'll survive like nothing happened.
Also, every single character acts like a complete idiot. Even Eunji, who I think is the most sympathetic character in the entire show, is stupid too because she's wasting her life away hanging on to these 2 completely misguided, foolish, self-destructive, irrational boys.
