Most of the sci-fi dramas theyāve put out in recent years havenāt been very good. This one had the brother connection that I found deeply engaging. I wish weād gotten more of Starās story and the loss of population but it would have been too much stuff pulling focus from the main story.
Iād like to see what else these writers could come up with, too. I really enjoyed this one.

Blackthorne took a backseat in this drama. The āromanceā also did. But honestly, with this actor it might have been for the best. It also felt like they didnāt know how to wrap the story up in the last episode. In any format without Mariko, it lost its luster. She was truly the lynchpin.
It was a very calming film watching people so deeply committed to their beliefs and exercising them in a way that wasnāt harmful to others. While there was hope for personal merit the whole purpose of the pilgrimage was to pray for others. And the scenery was stunning.
