Ep 5 and I already dislike Baek Tae Min. A person who harms their pets is a big no no. I know it's not real but…
That let me know he’s EVIL. I’m watching it right now too.

This is the bonkers kung fu movie where the ninjas attack wearing roller skates! Warning! There is an explicit sex scene thrown in inexplicably in the middle of this movie.

Very nice article. I've seen Neko Samurai and Because It's My First Life. Such sweet white kitties. Thank you for taking the time to write this I enjoyed it. :)

One of my faves from kung fu movies. I couldn't enter Bloodsport but aside from Enter the Dragon that was his iconic role.

Fun. Very predictable. Good actors. Has a Leverage feel if the team was actually stealing for themselves. Funniest PPL ever in a scene.

Thank you for this article! My first Asian drama and first drama love was TMOPB. ❤ Since then I've watched a variety of Chinese dramas but I always come back to wuxia/Xianxia/fantasy. I love the wigs, swords, dresses, and amazing sets.

I'm not as crazy about modern Cdramas although I am going to watch You Are My Destiny now that it's finished more so for Xing Zhao Lin than a third go at that story. I'd still rather see him with a wig and sword. :)

This movie is so much better than the rating. Lush and lovely, deliberately contemplative. Shu Qi gives a stunningly strong, silent performance. Definitely recommend giving it a try.

My first drama with her was Lucky's First Love. Her charm overcame that awful wig. Then off to to Arsenal. Next up for me is The Legends and I am waiting hopefully on Jiu Liu Overlord. Thank you for this article showcasing her talent! :)

Fun little movie, nothing to write home about. It was slow, but not boring.

Shines a dim light on Korea's at times hierarchical, ageist, and sexist practices. A very subdued story. I liked how it showed exercise as an aid to improve one's life. Little fuzzy on the friendship that developed and what it meant at the end pertaining to the title.

I don't mind revenge movies, but this one failed for me. For the ML to be the cool, enforcer (killer) he came across as inept at times and naïve, maybe a little insecure. I get he felt he had nowhere to go once he started on his path of revenge, but dude, seriously, you never stand that close to your enemy or let him put his hand in his pocket. He deserved to get repeatedly stabbed. Bullets will go through a table. And standing out in the open during a gun fight is a suicidal move which I get was probably his intention. No motivation for this woman to be dating the old gangster and cheating on him with another. Even for a revenge movie I needed the slightest inkling of why the ML was so attracted to her. LBH gave a good performance, but for me that's all this movie had going for it. I wasn't invested in his character so his death didn't affect me.

First of all, I love your articles because you loved Goblin and Eternal Love (TMOPB) and aren't afraid to admit it. Hard to find anyone around here who loved both of these wonderful dramas. It can be a lonely club on MDL. Poor Goblin gets lots of trash talk but I figure Kim Shin is tough enough to take it and if he can, I can. :)

Eternal Love of Dream: Too many dramas under the bridge for me to remember all the details, but I don't even remember an infidelity storyline. The only thing that truly bothered me about this drama was the second female lead. I found her horribly annoying. And I was disappointed that 4th Brother was recast, even though he didn't have much screentime. I'm also wondering if they were setting us up for a part 3 with some of the underused characters in this one. If you liked TMOPB I would encourage you to forge on a little longer. I didn't like it as much as TMOPB (Ye Hua, Mo Yuan, Bai Qian, and all the brothers FTW ❤ ), but I did enjoy it. I would have cut the episode count down and moved the story along quicker but I say that about most long cdramas.

DOTS: I dropped after the second episode. I may go back sometime to it, but it didn't pull me in despite the stellar cast.

Pinocchio: This is in my PTW. I'm okay with a darker/sadder storyline, but more ambivalent about the leads.

Forest: I got through the first two episodes and one day intend to go back.

With the exception of Eternal Dream, my unfinished drama angst is similar to yours.

And finally, " They wouldn’t watch one of these dramas if Vengo Gao tied them to the couch and hand fed them Double Stuff Oreos between episodes (um… that sounds fun)." Yes, yes it does. ;)

Pros for me: If I watch a drama as it airs, which isn't super often, it can be a fun group experience. "Who did it? What was she wearing? Oh, my goodness how hot is he or that kiss?" etc. When a drama busts it can be cheap group therapy. "Why??? What were the writers thinking? What the heck kind of ending is that?"

Cons-The biggest con for me is that by the time a hyped drama finishes airing if I save it to binge, I feel like I've already watched it because of the good people on the feed who won't use the spoiler tag. I've only been on MDL for a year, but this plays out repeatedly. To this day I haven't seen Extraordinary You because the feeds were plastered with pictures and posts about it. A lesser con of the hype machine, but still annoying is the people who will shred a drama because it was unable to live up to earth shattering expectations and unrealistic hype.

I try to keep my expectations low when I start a drama, no matter how much it has been hyped. Honestly, I think I enjoyed dramas more before I joined MDL because I didn't feel like I had to justify loving or hating a drama to anyone. I lived in the quiet little land of no hype, just taking dramas as I found them. I wouldn't give up the camaraderie, entertainment, information, and joy I get from my MDL friends and the feeds for anything, but I do feel like I lost a little, too.

The women didn't have a lot to do and they reused the same battle scene at least 12 times, the music wasn't great but the story and acting was compelling. Compelling enough for me to watch 80 episodes. :)
