I don’t know why, but these days I’ve got this feeling…JJy might not be the real villain 👀It feels like…
My theory is exact same. It feels too direct if he is the villain. He might not be the excellent person, but I don't think he is the main villain. Like even if its a romcom, a villain reveal is generally not from episode 2. I feel they are making us doubt him deliberately.

One thing- there is no proof Queen lit the fire. In the second episode they showed us her burning the paper and…
Very possible, but what a weird way to show guilt. You(queen mother) think you killed a person and to reduce your own guilt you decide to blame everything on his brother (considering she told him if he seek to take life of another sovereign after she slapped him).

Same problem. I like them both but some people are ruining my mood. I read 2/3 page of novel, it seems interesting…
Yeah you can just click on the id of the person who made the comment. It opens to the profile of the person. There is an "add friend" option. There are 2 sections in it- one is send friend request and another block user.
Every time I watch a drama, and I see stupid comments, like not the ones with valid criticisms, the hateful ones, I go and block them, after I complete the show, I unblock them. Otherwise it becomes really difficult to enjoy the show.

I actually don't mind spoilers. I enjoy reading, knowing what will happen, helps me understand characters from the very first of the episode. Also novels are really detailed, they include a lot of things, drama don't. So sometimes, suppose a character did something, drama doesn't give as such explanation, but because I read the novel, I understand clearly. I also enjoy seeing people making theories, discussing with other novel readers. But many a times now I have realized, a drama is so short they cannot include all the scenes. So me expecting to see some scenes do not get fulfilled. I get disappointed when its not the adaptation's fault as such. Like with "How Dare You" I was impressed, except the ending which I get is due cutting of episodes and censorship, but except that all was okay. But POJ, was a brilliant novel, but they cut so many scenes that it left me disappointed even though I liked the drama. I saw the drama Legend of female general without reading the novel, and loved it. But novel readers were deeply upset at the adaptation. So now either I have to know learn to separate the two or I should just stop reading. Hahaha!

Exactly and neutral fans/general audiences decide the success of show. At the end it should be a good watch enjoyable to everyone.

Yes ! i and it’s the same IU we have seen in recently in some amazing dramas. I totally agree with you. I just…
Ohh I did not mention IU because I did not see anyone criticizing her. Like I just saw criticisms to her character, not as an actress as such. But yeah she is my WLGYT IU, huhh who dared criticize her.
Here her character is..I won't say a brat. I did feel a little bad for her as a child Huiju, but yeah Huiju is greedy, she wants what her brother gets easily, she knows she deserves them, she is not the one to sacrifice. We might not agree with what she does or says always, but then that's the character.

When it airs, and I see such people in the comment section, I will just block them so that I don't have to see their comments. No one is allowed to ruin our fun.

I did not read this novel though, I read a lot before so when those dramas used to air, I kind of tried to compare the novel with the drama and ended up getting disappointed, so I stopped reading novels, whose adaptations are filming. Its a mixed feeling, as I don't know what's about to happen. I am hoping to take whatever they give us.

Yes, especially when Chinese drama industry doesn't depend on global expectations as much as Korean dramas,it…
Truly. Though I heard the boycott demands were made from Xukai's fan club in China, then being spread internationally, but I still think its bad, considering this is his show.

But yes that's true, dramas/controversies in X and MDL have no such effect in Mainstream China. Biggest examples of these being- Key to Phoenix Heart, where Ai Mi got casted as a minor, international audiences are furious, since filming till announcement its criticized so much, but they have released trailers and everything, but Chinese Audiences do not mind. Even during Pursuit of Jade, international audiences had no problems with the ML, but Chinese audiences made such a big issue calling him foundation general, leading NRTA, China to get involved as well. Cdramas target audience is Chinese audience.

Regardless controversies are sad, I loved the trailer here and I am excited to watch it.

The comment section is a mess. Let's keep it clear off Weibo/X discussions and controversies. There are people who have waited for this drama, there are drama fans, and others as well. Let's enjoy the trailers/teasers and the upcoming drama whenever it airs.
I don't see how boycotting a drama helps an actor, but if it suits your taste do it, but don't take away the joy from others who want to watch it.
I really love Zhou Ye, and I am a costume drama fan, I also like Xukai, so I am going to watch it. The controversy is sad, but remember despite some fans of Xukai boycotting it, it still remains a drama where ML was Xu kai, its his hard work, his face, his voice, his acting. Its equally his drama as much as it is of Zhou Ye's. If it flops/ gets bad reviews or succeeds, repercussions are to be faced by all those involved.

Exactly, even cuss words. I am flabbergasted.

My 2 cents-

First fans need to be less harsh/rude to people who are making a valid criticism. Just not here even in X, fans have been violently reacting to people making criticisms. Now see there is a clear distinction between hate and criticism. Its very easy to understand. Just because we love it, doesn't mean everyone has to. Every person who is giving his/her time to watch this, has a right to comment. This platform is for discussion. Yes but if its hate, you can call that out. But if a person comes to the platform and just explains what he/she feels about chemistry/acting/plot etc, saying cuss words/death threats/racist comments is very bad.
To the people who do not like this, you are valid to make your criticism and drop it or continue watching it. But if you come here everyday and continuously make bad comments on it, like regularly, it just disrupts the fun watching experience of others.

Secondly about BWS acting. This is my personal opinion. I don't think he is doing a bad job. Its his character. He is a cold calm person, that's why publicly or most of the times he reacts like that. You can see his various expressions with his secretary and FL in private though. He is the same guy who played Seon Jae. He is the same guy who played Ryu Si O in Strong Girl Nam Soon. He is the same guy who played the lead in 20th century girl. The last one being my personal favourite. I really believe its the script, the direction the character that leads to the acting. You have to understand his character here before making a judgement on it.

I feel the leads do not have a lot of scope of acting here. They are basically here to serve face cards with gorgeous expensive dresses. The people who have complex roles here like Seung Yeon only have a lot of scope of acting. For example, if you want to know how great Lee Jun ho acts, and you judge him by King the land drama, I don't think its fair. You have to check The Red Sleeve or Typhoon Family for that.

Okay this is just my personal opinion. People are free to have their own perspectives on it.

Yes it will be detectable. They even gave an example of it by showing scenes from How Dare You and Pursuit of…
Truly. Its really bad, but till now what the technology is, at least what is being shown, its detectable at least in dramas, but no one can predict the future with development in technology.
Its worse that these actors are being forced to accept this because they already have contracts. Like people like Cheng Lei or Zeng Shunxi and most of them are part of Iqiyi's talent agency. Iqiyi even declared Cheng Lei as its global brand ambassador. I think these things are even stopping these actors from denying it outrightly.
I mean who is mad enough to sign something that can easily replace them.

Even if its of the same day, her killing him is something I don't believe. If this was the truth they would have not have shown that to us in episode 2. Like they have created a mystery around the past of SFL and ML, ML's parents, the king, so why would they suddenly tell the reason behind his death so early.

is there going to be or a hinted romance between steve noh and seung yeon. I SEE SO MUCH POTENTIAL.
A lot of potential truly. But at least one of them is truly evil I think, and even if that's not the case, Queen Mother having a relationship with the Prime Minister of the country!! Scandalous but very interesting!
But Steve Noh's character clearly likes FL, and Seung yeon may or may not like ML, so it does seem far stretched.

After marrying Yun I Rang, the king never smiled again. He felt tired, miserable, & was fearful of assassination…
One thing- there is no proof Queen lit the fire. In the second episode they showed us her burning the paper and throwing it away. The next scene was the Queen standing in front of the residence with a distressed face, and her dead husband being brought out. That small piece of paper being able to lit the entire residence is weird to me. There is also no proof that both those two incidents happened on the same day. It was shown consecutively though.
I don't think Queen killed him. Either she told her father about her husband wanting to abdicate or some one else altogether(plot twist).

Am I the only one who can't finish episode 2 and I can't even finish it coz it's so boring and the ML acting was…
It gets better from ep 3 honestly. But if you find ML's acting bad, then maybe this isn't for you. Because its not him acting bad, he is a boring guy, with a cold personality, so except in front of his secretary, and maybe later in front of FL, he will act like that.
