SYQ you deserve that pain, you deserve that betrayal! Ahh after everything you did, this end of yours gives me so peace. Qi Min doing that to you is probably the only good thing he did in his life. Ahh! Satisfaction!
Edit- Huhh said it really soon, wdym SYQ is still alive, and Qi Min couldn't kill him??? What's with the suicide? Scriptwriter if I get you!!!!!!
Actually, i think it's not only for CY. That 108 lashes is more to cut ties uncle-nephew relationship.
I know, its pretty sad they chose to do it different also because of time concerns, without a separation track, this outcome cannot be achieved, and they decided to let go off the separation for better or for worse.
Actually, i think it's not only for CY. That 108 lashes is more to cut ties uncle-nephew relationship.
Yeah so in the novel version-
After knowing the truth, ML broke up with FL. He told her he loved her but he cannot be with the daughter of his parents' killer, otherwise he wouldn't be able to face his parents. But even after trying to move on, he failed, he missed her. That is when he went to his family manor, told his family governor/old servant to lash him 108 times, because that was the heaviest punishment in his family for an offence. He took that punishment, knelt before his parent's memorial tablets and told them that he might be an unfilial son but he wouldn't betray his lover. That Changyu is innocent in all of these, and she shouldn't face the repercussions of her parents deed. He declared his love for her, and promised them he would bring justice for the Jinzhou massacre, but he cannot part ways with Changyu. So that was really a self sacrificial kind of a thing, made really sense to his character in the novel. One of the best scenes I have read. After this he went apologized and made up with FL.
But because the drama changed the breakup track, they also changed the reason why ML took punishment. From the perspective of a novel reader, I and many others like the novel version.

In the drama it is to cut ties. Originally in the novel it wasn't. It makes no sense for Wei Yan to hit him, not at all, after everything ML went through due to him. The drama makers wanted to make it a dramatic scene between ML and his uncle that's why they did it. The novel one was much more righteous, sacrificial and made more sense.
Its a misunderstanding. He is being framed. He did not betray Great Yin.Emperor thinks Marquis marrying his sister,…
Yeah that's an alternate reality or next life, or something that may have happened if Jinzhou massacre didn't happen. So its not as such real, but a fan fic kind of.

I don't think they trusted Prince Changxin. The world trusted Prince Changxin more. They have heard this since childhood so maybe they believed it. But now with so many things happening, they now doubt that maybe there was more to the truth which was told. So Wei Qilin is not innocent according to them, it is what if he is, what if it was Prince Changxin? They do not have conclusive evidence against anything presently.
Can novel readers tell more about the Marquis character, how he is, I have heard that in drama he has been softened...…
In the drama, ML was always good to FL and her sister in Linan from the start. In the novel, he just wanted to use them to hide his identity. He was at time a little rude and cold to them. In the drama ML married FL because he was a little attracted to her. In the novel, he did it to get identity papers. In the novel, I did not really realize when he fell for her, maybe eventually staying together, but these hug scenes, peck scene (ep 9) nothing was there. They both treated the marriage very fake. But he suddenly realized his love and forcefully kissed her, getting slapped and turned away. He was borderline obsessive and a little toxic. When FL understood his identity, in the drama it was just a soft kiss on forehead, in the novel, he forcefully kissed her again, and got beaten. There were some scenes of them engaging in physical intimacy, few things hated by some, some people were uncomfortable by it. He crazily possessive about her. About his revenge- he was mad, he was in rage. Getting justice for his dad was a very big thing for him, mentioned by him many times. It was like he was living for only that before Changyu came. So when he learnt about the role of Changyu's dad in death of his dad, he broke up with her, though very respectfully. He tried to move on for weeks, failed. Went to his Xie Family Manor, took 108 lashes in repentance. Told in front of his parents tablets that even if Changyu's dad was responsible it doesn't matter to him, because Changyu is innocent and he cannot live without her. Made up with her later. He was really ruthless. He had a scene with Sui Yuanqing where he particularly played psychologically with him, traumatizing him. He cut the Eunuch's ear, threatened the emperor. There are few other things, but then that would be spoiled for you. But though he has been softened, I always felt even in the novel, he had important role more in the palace politics than in war. So hopefully we will see it then.

In episode 32. Gongsun Yin and ML were discussing these things, about what happened. So they discussed how Prince Changxin claimed that the tiger tally was fake. Gongsun Yin said what if it was Prince Changxin lying and not Wei Qilin. ML replied maybe we are getting closer to the truth. This was it. My guess is maybe ML trusts FL, and hence he trusts her father a little, because the truth is not revealed, he is not coming to conclusions. But this is just a wild guess, it doesn't make a lot of sense, and this is really diverting away from the novel as well.
One point I forgot to mention in the above comment. Wei Qilin used to serve Wei Yan (ML's uncle) along with He Jingyuan (prefect of Linan who died in ep 30). Wei Qilin later served ML's dad. Because he could not bring grains and troops, and Wei Yan had earlier withdrawn from the battle, there were rumours that Wei Qilin did it on the orders of Wei Yan. Wei Qilin was considered a loyal dog of Wei Yan. Later Wei Yan supported the young prince as emperor, making him a puppet emperor. Hence Wei Yan though no one has enough evidence against him, there were rumours that he was the mastermind behind it.
Can someone explain to me the tiger talley situation. I'm so confused... Wei Qilin, Prince Changxin, Wei Yan.…
This is the information we already know, till episode 32.
We only know that General Xie and Crown Prince and the army required grains and additional troops. For this, they sent Wei Qilin to Prince Changxin, along with the tiger tally. The tiger tally is a proof that what Wei Qilin is saying is true, that he is sent by General Xie. But Prince Changxin said that the tiger tally was fake, refused to send grains or troops, leading to the death of General Xie, Crown Prince and thousands of soldiers. Wei Yan was earlier a part of this battle with crown prince and General Xie, but he withdrew his troops and came back in the middle, for unknown reasons. That is why the whole country considers Wei Qilin a traitor because they think he is the one who replaced the tiger tally with a fake one, hence betraying his country. ML and Gongsun yin now think that it might not be Wei Qilin who replaced the tally but someone else. That is why Qi Min considers Wei Yan and Prince Changxin to be responsible for killing his father. But how he has the tiger tally, we don't know.
I'm also confused but this is what I know: He is son of the old crown prince chengde, who died in the battle 17…
You are absolutely correct. In addition to this his goal of destroying Sui family is over. Prince Changxin and his wife are dead. Sui Yuanqing is arrested hence would be dead soon, according to him. His double is used to portray that Sui Yuanhuai is dead. So now, he can get back his throne by being Qi Min.
Qi Min doing that to you is probably the only good thing he did in his life. Ahh! Satisfaction!
