Like the drama has not explored his character so much as of yet, but with whatever shown of him we can understand that he is a puppet, with no skills or ability. The court and country is in chaos due to his inability. He is always trying to please wei and li factions.

Most of the characters here are fighting for power, greed, Huai An and ML are probably the only ones who are doing for a right cause, considering Huai An doesn't do anything stupid.

I could never imagine drama Xie Zheng sister zoning Changyu, he would cough blood and die before that. They toned down his character so makes sense.
