After hearing him being called by different names, I looked it up on Google and found this.https://www.threads.com/@chengleiph/post/DNnxMelzV_H?xmt=AQG0wrZpeJCh_u6Cs6xGRmg5tivJh3IIrtVBK0b8vdQE_B70eAFALs7wOkgumc8QtT50uqI&slof=1Till…
Yeah I knew this. I have following Cheng Lei for a more than a year now, so I remember initially in the fandom there were discussions about his names.

His birthname had a "character" from Dongdong, so it became his nickname. His birthname was different, but he changed it officially to Yang Huixiang. His stage name is Cheng Lei. Leizi is generally what his colleagues/friends in the industry call him. "Zi" is added to make it cuter, in a friendly way, "lei" is from Cheng Lei, so that's how Leizi. Fans call him Leizi or Dongdong. Also has an English name- Ryan Cheng, though honestly I have never heard anyone use it.

Generally in all interviews, I have seen his co stars colleagues referring to him as Leizi or Cheng Lei. But it was so cute that Lulu called him by all his names in a single live.

Title The First Jasmine Spoiler
I am telling you, except names, and MXY being crippled with family accused wrongly, and Yeli's family hating her,…
Novel was huge. It had around 400+ chapters. But I can just give you a premise.
Yeli's family set up was similar, but her grandmother was not senile, she was the matriarch and bad to her. Her step brother was bad too. Like no one in her family liked her. She was betrothed to SML, but he had an affair with her sister, so she married ML. ML family story was similar, family executed, just a sister in law. No nephew though. And yes he is crippled. But he was very powerful. Like no one dared to mess with him or his family as such, though he did not hold any court power, but he had secret military power.
Yeli had no revenge to take. Yeli and MXY became fast friends. Naturally fell in love, no distrust or anything. Yeli was not ill as well. She was a transmigrator though (completely unnecessary to the plot). Yeah so MXY had enemies, and Yeli got involved in protecting peace of the country and finding out what exactly happened with MXY. MXY got cured later. They fought together, protected their family, country, established a place, gained power, a lot of palace politics, annoying SML etc etc. But they were very happy together, and had 3 children as well. Very huge story but really nice.

I remember during POJ, they did not give an introduction as such. People were enjoying it, and after episode 25, people who did not read the novel, got so confused, who is who, who killed whom, who are alliances, who are enemies.
But because they did not introduce the story and characters initially except the main leads, the initial pacing for 20-22 episodes was excellent, with no boring moments. But this drama took a little time, to settle in 4 episodes, I think this will help later when the palace politics hit the peak.

(I loved POJ btw, this isn't a slander of POJ guys, I am just referring to things being executed differently)

for historicals is there a quota to use a specific amount of "this intro" in Asia. every series start…
But if they don't show an intro, wouldn't the audience feel a little lost. Costume Dramas tend to have a lot of supporting cast. With politics being a huge part of dramas as these, there are different factions in palace as well. It confuses people. So isn't it better that they give a little introduction in the initial episodes, to make the audience understand the dynamics between different people, before moving on with the story?

Same same. In the cast live today, Cheng Lei even mentioned that Yeli does not have DID, but she is a very complex character. Just as you said outside something, inside something else. Bai Lu said Yeli was like an onion, you have to peel to know her. But in the end, all of them are her, one personality just different shades. Truly interesting.

I don't know about your time zone. But this is better for people in Asia at least. The episodes were releasing in morning and noon for us. Now its a little better, like the usual cdrama air time.
