Question. I love this series. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE redemption arcs for grey/gray characters. I also love good bromance (romance is also good...but I know is more rare). Do any of you have any good recommendations that fits both bromance and redemption?
I think it's safe to say that it got better after a few eps like secret crush on you.
Comedy wise, how does this compare to Secret Crush on You? Secret Crush on You was so nonserious and crazy, but I laughed so much at it (it grew on me and I ended up enjoying it)..... so if this has a similar vibe, I may be able to handle it. How would you compare?
I'm looking for a cute and fluffy and happy series to watch after work that requires minimal brain power from my tired soul. Does this series fit that?
They've clamped down on all shows whose source material is not 'moral'. Censors used to let this slide, but this was before the more recent clamp down against the LGBTQ+ community. They've been going after writers as well. It is a scary time.
If a company is certain it will never release in China, then some money internationally is better than NO money EVER. It used to be that if companies in China just quietly waited, subtle shifts in political climate would allow a show to release even it if was 5 or 8 years later (it quite common in China). But the recent climate in China regarding LGBTQ+ is very grim so looks to never be a shift for the next 20+ years....so that puts pressure on these companies just holding on to series they have invested so much in. Risk loosing it all or 'bite the bullet' and just sell rights to another company outside China where it can air. Make no mistake....it sucks for the companies, but would be good for us international folks (and anyone in China risking VPN use or living internationally).
No. But a bunch of other dramas we thought wouldn't be released were (other companies in countries outside China like Thailand and Japan bought rights).... so people are just hoping same will happen for this one. :)
The loss of this series is one of the biggest regrets in the universe. It is a shame considering all their hard work, as well as the epic cast. My heart aches at this lost potential for all of us.

OMG! That is such a great scene also! It is so obvious now that I see it again! I love the writers doing this and for the actors/director to be so on with it :D
Exactly. The first time I watched it, I thought more that Yichen was jealous of ZYZ being around Wen Xiao. But on second watch, you can totally take it as Yichen being jealous of Wen Xiao having ZYZ attention! It was some clever directing, writing and acting. I feel like they did this on purpose to make every kind of fan happy, and I adore them for it.
They threw Dudu’s WenXiao script out the window after her epicness in episode one. 🤣 Her character WenXiao…
Yeah.... it made sense for the writers for this story, I guess. 😑😢🤗🙃 All 3 alive would have been a surprise ending (especially for Cdrama), but that is why they COULD have done it.😂 I still don't understand why the Goddess alone (without killing herself) couldn't solve the plague problem....such a giant plot hole. Though Yichen dying for them would also have been a big twist considering.😂
I just find it is interesting socially for hetero couples, that it is good (expected?) that the male die/sacrifice for the female, but not ok for the female to die/sacrifice for the male. Why would one's sacrifice for the other be any less? 🤨

Simply, men left to their own devices often make bad/risky decisions. :D This is normal. Trust me; I'd know ;)
