You make it sound like the actors are not on board with this. They are totally aware of the risk and protection strategies (the risk is less or no further jobs in the chinese film industry). The production company is Thai that's why MDL decided to list it as Thai (but actually it is a chinese, taiwan, thai collab). Which is indeed a strategy of basically all current Chinese BL producers to get around censorship to make BL in the first place. But yes it is very sad and horrifying that the actors don't get much protection in their own country... but there is more harm from crazy fans rather than the government. (but to be fair that dangerous development with Revenged Love was unexpected... it worked fine till then..........)

Why is everyone always dismissing "Meet you at the Blossom" as THE first uncensored Chinese BL after the ban, already in 2024 💔 It's Chinese even tho it says Thai in the production country, because they do it like every other Chinese BL production. They worked with other countries producers and crew to sneak around the censoring (but actors, script, director are chinese). They did that first. But I think there were even some earlier ones, more hidden with indie companies on small streaming platforms and youtube.

Yall really need to unwrap your weird views on love and intimacy. There are more version than just that one classic BL love story formula. People can even be in love without ever kissing or sex. People can be in love without being super sappy romantic or touchy with each other as well.
