Sundays episode got a better rating.
I don't care about ratings but since it's discussed here a lot I thought I pointed out that the show regenerated a bit.

In the last months we had:
Welcome to Samdalri
Dr. Slump
Love next door
Serendipidy embrace
(Family by choice)

And now:
Motel California

And there are more coming. I can't remember all of them from the top of my head.

It's really a lot atm with all the reunion dramas. And in many dramas both didn't even have a partner in between. Lol

I think you don't fall out of love only because you don't agree with everything the other person said. It was a heated situation. Both made valid points for different reasons. ML was harsh but I think FL understood that it was because of his background as a doctor. That's why she doesn't hold it against him. She's a commander who is presented mature and rational while he's emotional and out of his comfort zone.

I think it's nothing new but nicely told.
But sometimes - not with Love scout- people rate the behaviour of the ML and FL or their looks over the actual story. That's okay of course. Everyone enjoys different things.

I think that's maybe what draws many watchers to kdamas - idealistic, perfect leads who can function as role models. It's what many kdramas serve. If you watch european or f.e. japanese dramas you have characters with flaws that aren't as black and white. You also don't know for sure who ends up with whom. Sometimes I like to watch this and sometimes it's nice to watch something predictable like "Love scout".

I agree with you . I wrote the same but forgot to press "send". I think "Love scout" is great for its genre but nothing really new while Motel California and WTSG habe grey characters that feel real. Although I must saythat LMHs character is a bit too dumb at times. And he's the weakest actor if the main cast. I like him nonetheless.

For me it's the same. I truly enjoy watching this. The characters aren't meant to be perfect. Their point of views aren't presented as favorable or unfavorable by the show itsself. It's the watcher who decides especially regarding the whole "Is a morula already a human beeing?"-discussion and should we use science because we can regardless of ethics and not wanted consequences.
I also think the drama is fresh, unpredicable, quirky and just not for everyone with its space-biology-mix.

So ... after watching episodes 5 and 6 just now, I must say... altough it´s still quirky and there are some conveniences... I still had a very good time! It´s unconventional and over the top and that´s exactly what I like about it. It´s more comedy than sci-fi which is ok too . The idea with macro- and microcosmos is appealing to me. But I studied biology so maybe that´s why I like it although it´s not what was expected from the trailer.

I agree that almost every kdrama could be cut down 2-3 episodes if you remove filler plots and flashbacks.

MMS really was a bad show. Ji Chang Wook is my fave asian actor and I love the lead actress too but they couldn't save that script. It had a great premise but they focused on the wrong things. I hope that won't happen here. So far I'm enjoying this show way more than MMS although LMH isn't as good as JCW actingwise IMHO.

But that's a lot of work and extends the costs.
If they do that they will ruin the show even more.

I don't think they cut the number of episodes because it's already finished productionwise and not ongoing. They could air it in another time slot. Netflix could release the remaining episodes faster. But they can't alter a story filmed in 2022.

Btw, I thought Wok of love from the same writer was strange but in the end I loved it. Sometimes "over the top" is great.
It's basically the same with the american Jude Apatow and his quitky comedies. You love or hate them.
