This is really funny!!! I think my reviews could be considered in the beowulf category. LOL.
Don't worry, you're not alone.
I suppose as long as we don't write them in Old English, everything's fine. ;);)

Violet my dearest!!!
Forgive this busy ahjumma who can't find a reasonable middle way between 8 hours on the net and none at all.
My connection seems all right now, but I have left it be on purpose longer than it should, because I needed to concentrate on my job, and knowing myself I feared the slightest distraction would have broken the very unusual working hype. :P
However, I'm fine and reasonably fit, lol.
How about you? Watching something good?
I'm so behind with the drama watching I'd need a sabbatical year or two to get back on track. I'll ask the muse (Dramiope) to give me some hours more each day... ;)

Ah, Twinnie, this connection is driving me crazy! My pc clearly needs a cleaning, because I can't stay tuned on this page for more than a few minutes with it. Now I'm using a netbook and I hate it, the keyboard is small and confusing, I'm not used to it and I'm writing at the speed of a drunken sloth. So please forgive my hiccupping replies, I hope to solve the problem before the end of the world in december, lol.
September is going to be very hectic workwise, which means I am not watching any drama. And you know, when you stay away from dramaland for too long, it's going to be hard to get into it when I finally have the time. I've found out anti-addictions are worse than addictions... :P
How about you? Immersed in your readings and writings? I send you a big enouraging hug, hoping you'll love Calvino as much as I do. :D
Ja ne||| kisses

My dearest,
here I am again apologizing to you. Alas! My access to MDL is worsening, if possible- Now I am using my husband netbook - which I frankly hate (not the husband, the netbook, lol). I will have to take my pc to a technician and have it "cleaned" a little, because the problem is not in the connection.
I've read your review of what's up? and as usual you made me eager to watch it. Unfortunately, I'm not watching anything at all right now. September is going to be a hell of a month, workwise, and I barely know how to make all my deadlines and tutoring duties fit together.
I'm getting so behind with my drama watching I'm almost afraid I'll never caught up again. I hope October will bring a little "normality"...
I wish you a wonderful evening and please overlook the typos... this keyboard is driving me crazy, lol.
Kisses!

First of all, please forgive me for replying so late. Instead of getting better, my connection is worsening and I'm not writing with a small netbook I'm unfamiliar with, but see no other solution...
Thank you for commenting on the article (I'm a little embarrassed at calling it that, it's more of a collection of random thoughts, lol). What you say about our quest for novelty is very true. I'm not even sure what the addiction - or the passion - is truly due to: if the exoticism of it all, the stories which often have the flavour of past novels, the cultural differences or the similarities- Sure is that if, for a while, I get out of the addiction tunnel, it's very hard to go back to it, as hard as it seemed to come out of it... possibly, this is material for another article, what do you think? ;)
I just thought of something. Drama addicts always greet each other by asking, "What drama are you watching?"…
LOL, that's true. :D
And like in real life the first thing we notice about people is their look, the first thing we notice here is their favourite dramas.
If this weren't just a funny portrait, we could read something deeper in it. ;)
Thank you again, everyone. I wish I could reply to each one of you, but my pc is rising against me and I can't stay tuned on MDL for more than a few minutes at a time.
The reason must be one of the following:
1.my pc does not speak Japanese, Korean or Mandarin
2.it does not approve of my having Binnie & Co. on the screen saver (a pc with a terrible taste)
3.I have never bowed to my pc (I should try)
4.my husband is sabotaging my connection for the same above mentioned reasons.
Thank you everyone. :D Believe it or not, some time ago I went to the baker and instead of greeting I bowed. I…
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT???? You ungentlemanlike fellow! How do you know I'm not a petite beauty, as light as a feather?
...
...
Too late. You've lost your chance, and the pleasure to piggyback-ride me. I'll have to content myself with asking Binnie. Tzk. ;):D
haha this had me literally grinning the whole time. If I were to quote all the things that had me rofling 80%…
Of course I was. :D:D

By the by, it is a prejudice often found in real life too, where people like Zuckerberg are considered geniuses, while, say, a historian is a nobody because he's not quoted on the stock exchange.
3. Related to 2. there is the aspect "viewers expectations". Since the other girl - the chef - did a pass on him, hell broke loose. I've read people giving her all kind of names because she kissed Hyuga. As if she had NO RIGHT to have a crush on him because the viewers want the "great" man to end up with Makoto. In my mind, she has all the right to try, it's not as if she stole him from another woman. And even if she had, she's a nice girl, she's smart, knows what she wants professionally as well as in her love life. I like her, and this constant bashing of her simply because she's the second female is annoying and, frankly, a little worrisome too. It mirrors a "moral" trend I don't like at all.

Again, I'm with you 100%. No, make it 200%. In fact, while I thought the first couple of episodes were nice and prompted me to go on, the whole dynamic changed very fast, and not in a good direction.
1. the lost mother scenario. Where has it gone? What, at first it seemed a paramount problem to find her and then it fell into complete oblivion?
2. Makoto's extraordinary memory made her perfect to assist Hyuga with his proso... whatever. However, they only used this trait once and went in the dreadful direction you point out: the silly girl who cries for unrequited love. She is not stupid by any human criteria, why are they stressing the aspect as if she were? It's as though only people who can programm computer and make lots of money out of it were smart. This irks me no end.
Don't kill me, but I found your brief bios and commentaries a lot more interesting than any sinopsis. I suppose…
You know I can't be quiet for more than 5 minutes in a row, so I went to read that synopsis again (hoping to understand something, but it didn't happen, lol).
However, I'm laughing out loud for this: "She has a young child with him". Really? And here I thought one could have an old child with a man... O_O
By the way: I know it's not you who write the synopsis. Whoever they are, I want to meet them. They sound hilarious. LOL ;)

I don't even dare add other dramas. Every time I open my list I faint.
This said, let me add that Crazy's comment about The Good Man never seen before made me curious, so I went back and tried to read the synopsis, but I didn't understand a thing, LOL!!! What's with the lovers/killers, then she has a child with his father but the son comes out of jail and every woman likes him... and who the heck is the woman who's so weak she faints? Does she have a long PTW list too? O.O
Therefore, knowing my dislike for sinopsis in general, I'll wait for your reviews and comments and in case add the dramas AFTER those. ;)

LOL, I suppose you use your ninja super powers on the keyboard too! ;)
To be honest, I am not adding anything right now because I am so behind with my to watch list, when I look at it I feel the need to run away. I'm also so busy wih work that I know I could not be constant in my watching even if I wanted too. So you can rest assured that it is not your recommendations I'm not interested in - on the contrary - but I simply doubt I'll be able to watch them while they are airing. I'll wait for your reviews once they are over and chose depending on them.
I didn't lie when I said your commentaries and bios are a lot more intriguing. :D
