First of all, it's great to read from you. :D Second, I'm glad you loved it. It's such an unpredictable drama, always suspended between good and bad. And the acting is brilliant!
Currently, I'm totally obsessed with a Korean drama which is causing me heartbreak, pain, and all the symptoms of mad love. LOL
But it will be over tomorrow night, and I'll be in dire need of something Japanese again. I'll come to you for advice: be prepared! ;)

You're not crazy, just a little masochistically persistent. ;) I am not so brave: when something starts annoying me, I simply drop it, often with a sigh of relief. I am convinced that I somehow "sense" it from the very beginning if a drama is going to be a great love or a total failure for me. There's something in the way the characters are presented from the very beginning which does the trick at once, or it doesn't.
This said, forget that fashion thingy and start something better: it won't be difficult to fine a better one, right? :D
Have you tried Queen Inhyun's Man? It's a truly refreshing drama, one of those one watches with a big grin all through. :)

Yes, I knew about these sisters, as a matter of fact, I call them "the Hongs I like".;) They wrote Beethoven Virus, which I also liked. There is no comparison, really, not as I see it. These Hongs write profound, brave scripts, the others shallow rom-coms (nothing against rom-coms, I just don't like them to be child-like).
This said, I too had a bad feeling, but I let my wishful thinking rule the whole week. It's been a bad blow, but it doesn't ruin my opinion of the drama, which is too rooted into reality to opt for a simple "and they all lived happily ever after".
BUT, they have to give us a good ending for the main couple or this drama will see the end of me. They are so beautiful to watch together, I'm madly in love with both, lol.
I agree, the scene with the princess seeing him in front of her was heartbreaking and beautifully done. Were I the actress, I'd have cried for real. :(

Ok, try to see the positive side of it: bad dramas improve the level of humour of our reviews... :P

Oh, Shota-kun! Do you like him too? He must be the most scrumptious man on earth, lol. But I have seen almost everything he was in except his last movie, which apparently is very violent... so I'm keeping away from it, at least for now. Usually, when I'm on withdrawal after a drama I particularly loved, I turn to Japanese dramas. They have this very unique quality which distracts me and does wonders for my spirit.
Then I'll be back into my Japanese obsession, hahaha. What a neverending circle. ;)

Queen Inhyun's a true mood uplifter, good idea, I just wanted to store it for the cold, empty days waiting for me after the last episode tomorrow. LOL
Yes, I'm a little pathetic and in dire need of a kick in the derriere. ;) It may wake me up a little.
Protect the Boss had a very strange effect on me: I watched it while airing up to episode 11 and truly liked it and then suddenly, without a clear reason, I lost all interest and it's been on hold since then. Up to now I haven't found out why that happened. :S

My dear, there is nothing I can say to ease your heavy emotions. When one develops almost a physical attachment to the characters of a drama, it means it's so well written and acted it's almost too good to be true.
And it's so painful, I think I'll soon go watch an episode of... what's the silliest drama out there? One which freezes the neurons or brings them back to some primitive state. Any idea? ;)

Hmm, too many babies for my taste, lol
But it would be lovely to have a happy ending for everyone bar the villains. ;)

Either you are NOT pathetic, or we are both. I talk and talk, but I have no doubts as soon as I'm back from my "baby sitting" session this evening (actually, I should say kid sitting, my nephew is 13 and my niece is 7) I'll run to the pc and watch it raw.
And I agree on the spoiler thing: I'd hate to read or see something before having watched myself.
So I suppose the patience I'm trying to use will abandon me with the speed of light. :P

So my friend, how far did you go in your watching?
Because I'm in fibrillation for tonight episode and am now split between the anxiety to see the end of this wonderful story and the incredible sadness to see it end.

I truly hope and silently pray the writers that they give us a happy ending. Nothing fluffy, of course, that would be so out of line it would mean the writers have gone mad, but at least let them all live!!!
Oh dear, the poor princess. Suffice to know, what she went through is MUCH worse than what we all imagine. You will soon find out, and the interpretation of the actress is amazing. As for Shi Kyung... I can't tell you anything not to spoil, but he is such an endearing character it's incredible.
I agree with you that this drama is incredibly rooted into reality, although the monarchy setting is fictional. And these characters, all of them, I love them all so much it's almost like they were real friends.
That's why I wouldn't withstand a sad ending either.
Wait to see episode 18 and you have an idea how anxious I am right now...

But you must admit his crossing that yellow line with the demeanor of a king was wonderful! I was swooning like a 16 year old.

Yes, I like it. It's a refreshing drama, quick paced, sexy and with two very appealing leads. It's nothing major, the plot has some "logic holes", but it can easily be pardoned by the enjoyment of watching these two interact. I like how the time jump is played on here. It's a light entertainment, very fitting while waiting for the next heartbreak of we know what. :)

Oh, episode 12! I loved that she physically saved him and he just stood there, watching in a mixture of awe and yearning. I like it that their roles are somehow reversed: she protects him with strength and courage, he protects her by trusting her and being by her side. They are truly even, I love this. And yes, her being sent back to the north and everything that followed was heartbreaking. The scene in which she takes off her shoes at the airport must be one of my favourites. I like details like this.

Haha, believe me, I'm not being kind, just honest. :D
Also, I feel like I'm always talking about myself and my taste whenever we chat here. Sorry, this is quite out of character for me (and here I go again). LOL It must be something in your wall... ;);)
However, I DO read what you say and am glad to agree most of the time.

Don't worry, I DO prefer men, lol, I am just overjoyed to finally find someone who didn't like The Greatest Love. Not being as courageous or resistant to pain as you are, I dropped it by episode 3 or 4. I thought it was a stupid drama with an incomprehensible humour and the mountain of cliches so typical of the infamous sisters. Blah.
I know it's ridiculous, but you know when you don't like something and everybody raves about it and you FINALLY find someone who agrees with you? It makes me feel better, lol.
Today I found someone who shares my view on Rooftop Prince too (i.e. a big, fat NO). It must be a lucky day: I shall buy a lottery ticket. ;);)

P.S. Red Cliff is a great movie. A war one through and through though, so don't expect anything else than war strategy and wonderful actors/costumes/scenery. :)

I am going to say something which you may not like: I am not a fan of Jang Geun Suk. Mind you, I truly loved him in the beginning, and thought he was brilliant in Beethoven Virus and Baby and I, But the roles he chose after that... it's a big, fat no from me. So I will try Love Rain in the future, but right now I need a vacation from him (a long one, after that stupid movie My Pet).
Sorry, as you can see I can be a little... exaggerated to. ;)
