Ok I'm split between starting Thirty But Seventeen or this one. For those who are watching both series, which one is better or more worth watching? It seems they have similar genres and vibes so I want to know more about their differences.
I agree that people can have different viewpoints and they can like or dislike a show. Therefore I will just state my viewpoints one more time and sum everything up and move on.
1. About the drama being unrealistic Like a lot have said, this is marked under the fantasy genre, and it's probably more fantasy than it is sci-fi (since sci-fi is heavily based on scientific possibilities - depending on whether you think NS3 has emotions or not, this can be sci-fi or not sci-fi). If a person goes into this drama expecting it to be very close to reality, then they may be disappointed. So if you are considering whether to start this drama, you may take this point into consideration.
2. About So Bong and NS3 relationship There are many people who don't think the relationship works. Personally I find it ok because So Bong is ok with it and it's her relationship plus NS3 is a sentient being. Their relationship is pretty much the main thing about the story so again, if you're ok with robot + human romance def give this a try.
3. About the ending Since I'm writing this also for ppl who haven't watched the show, I won't go into the details. The ending does have a lot of plotholes (the definition of plotholes = things that were not explained). This heavily depends on whether you are ok with some things not being spelled out or some characters' futures not being wrapped up. The extent of how much something needs to be explained or left to our own imagination is pretty arbitrary and different people do have different expectations. I was one of the people who loved the ending.
This drama is basically a love story wrapped under occasional company politics, while exploring some life lessons about humanity (they never got as deep into the philosophy as many notable sci-fi productions like Blade Runner, but this is kdrama world so I'd lower my expectations). You may like this or hate this depending on your drama viewing taste and expectations, but given that a lot of people loved it, def still give it a try!
Sorry, but i think that beeing with a robot is totally imposible, i mean you can't do with it things that you…
First of all I respect your opinion, pal. This drama is marked as fantasy, and their relationship was established under the fact that So Bong doesn't mind if her partner is an android. If she loves him unconditionally and doesn't mind at all, then it's fine for me (maybe not for you though). If you didn't like it, chances are you're just not a fan of fantasy.
I was annoyed by the unnecessary drama in the last episode. Dr Oh saved Nam Sin 3 from the kill switch in like…
The mother actually inserted the chip before it was finished, that was why it was quick but didn't completely stop the switch. David had to get Nam Shin 3 to go over to his place to completely remove the kill switch
this drama was brilliant right uptill the last two episodes. the last 4 episodes killed it for me but still a…
I personally loved the last four episodes. Just putting another view out for people considering to watch this drama, you guys shd definitely still check it out!
It's interesting how people's opinion towards this drama is split in half. Some love it and regard it as one of their favorite shows, some hate it and think it ended terribly. The takeaway for me is that this is really the type of show that depends heavily on the taste of the viewer and their expectations. The situation is similar to WWWSK, which I hated but loved this one. Would say this show isn't bad, just not everyone's cup of tea. For those planning to watch it, it's better to explore if this is really the drama for you.
High reviews up there and I gave it my all until episode 25 but after that I gave up and skipped to the last thirty…
Her was one of my favorite movies of all time lol. Humans can feel a bond in almost anything they can relate to and can put their feelings into. It's just human nature. Loving an android isn't shallow, it's respect towards an intelligent and sentient being who is capable of having their own thoughts just like a human being, and can give care and save lives like many humans cannot do. Humans are also coded by nature's programming. The way we function isn't that different from an android philosophically speaking. This drama was thought-provoking and opened my mind to many things. But to each their own I guess.
BUT as much as I loved and enjoyed this drama the ending left me and my friend lots of questions liiikkkeeeeee:1)…
I guess it was meant to be open ended and left to our own imagination. The future of grandpa and the other relatives have little to do with the main storyline so they decided not to go into it. I guess grandpa just gets dementia and stays hospitalized until he dies. As for Seo Jong Gil's assistant, maybe since he wasn't directly involved with the killings, there wasn't enough evidence to charge him, nor was he a major villain in the story. As for how SB and NS3 live happily ever after, it's really left to our own imagination. And since they love each other, it shouldn't really matter whether they grow old tgt or not.
I'd say the only thing I found missing was Ye Na, since her dad went to jail, and NS came back, they should've at least showed us a glimpse of her current life and her relationship with NS. She did many things to help the leads but her story wasn't developed at all :/
Beautifully put. We are on the path to making androids like this in fact (25/50/75 years - who knows...) and will…
My bad about the seawater part. He broke because he was shot many times through the chest which probably damaged some important hardware. That seems like a better explanation to his "death". And maybe the water would flow into his body through the bullet holes. Makes sense it took so long to repair him lol
I'm pretty sure David added that new function to him because he requested for it. He did mention desperately wanting…
I agree with your point. I find android and human emotions to be essentially the same thing, the only difference is that we sense our feelings through our neurons while an android acknowledges their feelings through lines of code.
The only thing I was unsatisfied about the ending was that they didn't show the epilogue of So Bong and NS3 living…
I secretly also wanted a bittersweet ending where they live till 90 and pass away together sort of like The Notebook and Bicentennial Man. Guess I'll just imagine everything in my dreams lol
