Not at all. In fact, you might like it more if you don't. Eternal Love is an alternative story because the producers didn't have the rights to the Pillow Book, the book where this drama is based on.
What do you all think - can I watch this if I haven't read the novel yet, or should I read the novel first before…
It's a super happy ending, just a bit short. In the book it's a bit more open, but in the drama they extended and it's very happy. We complain because we want to see more of their happiness, instead of just the last few minutes. But it's not bittersweet, I promise.
I like the book better than the novel, but the book is a bit tricky to understand because it has a lot of flash backs. I recommend to watch the drama first and then read the book. The first 22 episodes in the drama are only shown as flashbacks in the book. Maybe watch up til there, and then read book 1, then finish the drama, then read book 2
For those like me who are waiting like crazy for the subs episodes, check out this fan-fiction in the meanwhile: https://www.wattpad.com/842843918-three-lives-three-worlds-the-tale-of-the-fox I found it the other day and it's awesome. What a wonderful side story for FJ and DH. The author writes beautifully, the characters are on point and the plot is addicting. I love it!
In case you guys are wondering, there is a continuation of TPB. Tang Qi (author) wrote another book about what…
OMG!!! Seriously?? I love the book!! I read some many times... I can't wait to read the sequel. Sadly I don't speak Chinese... but maybe a fan will translate it. Fingers crossed!
I am rewatching the drama and I really like Zhe Yan's relationship with Bai Zhen, Feng Jiu's fourth uncle. In a way, it reminds me of FJ and DH. ZY is also a very old deity. I guess he, Mo Yuan, DH and FJ's grandfather are the older gods alive. ZY is also retired and spends his days drinking wine in his peach blossom field... but he is so obviously in love with BZ. He'd do anything for him. I'm so glad that they didn't hide their relationship like they did in TMPPB. They are so sweet. I love them!
I didn't watch "Eternal Love", can I watch it without watching the first novel? And the tag love triangle, is…
Even better if you haven't watched Eternal Love. The first few episodes are a retelling, so will enjoy it more this way. There is not a love triangle. The leads only like each other. But they are misunderstandings and a other characters who like the male lead, he just ignores them.
Being a TMOB fan, I love this a lot and maybe even much more. Their love is bittersweet and landed me in tears
They were my favorite couple in TMOPB. I watched their bits in youtube a hundred times. But this drama is so much better!!! DJ is so adorable, best male lead ever! And FJ grows so much. She makes him work hard to get her. I just love them. So playful and honest, both of them! Kawaii!!!
If only they were allowed to broadcast all 60 episodes instead of having to cut it to 56 episodes.
40 episodes? For real? No exceptions? That's terrible!!! Can they at least do like, season 1 and then season 2? Man, between this and the AO3 ban, I'm getting very pissed off. I love China, I've lived there and felt extremely welcomed and safe... but this is just too much!
I understand what you mean, but I am not sure if I agree. Ep 1-20 are the most boring of this drama for most people,…
I was trying to nullify your opinion. As I said, I can see what you mean. Like you said, it's probably a matter of personal preference. On the one hand if you already ship the leads, you'll like the drama more... on the other, if you watch it without having already watched the same story line (over and over in my case, I am a huge fan!), you'll enjoy it more.
Number one thing I have learned about the 3 lives series is that if you have sex, you will get pregnant...the…
To be honest, YH and BQ were married for some months in the human world... And DH and FJ sleep together MANY TIMES in the book, both inside and out of A's dream. But I guess celestials don't have contraceptive pills available in heaven...
Ep 44. When a normal guy get on his knees and asks you to marry him... Dijun sits next to you and calmly informs you that he will marry you and make you his empress. No choice in the matter :D
i have nothing to do rn and it's a thurs so i'm excited about the new episodes. thought i'll give my ten cents…
I understand what you mean, but I am not sure if I agree. Ep 1-20 are the most boring of this drama for most people, but those episodes are a retelling of two plot-lines that we already watched in TMOPB. However, for people who never watched TMOPB, they get to see the characters' evolution from the very beginning... which is more interesting than watching 20 episodes repeating the same story-line that you already know.
