I actually like Thi’s character, he’s what made me stay to watch this story. Now, I acknowledge that he can be very cringey and over the top but that’s precisely what appeals to me about his character (I’d even dare to say that he matures a tiny bit in later episodes). I find that his acting/character falls very well in line with the tone that this series tries to set, just as Noey can be a little weirdo now and then with his retro vibes and romantization of 80’s thug life. If we throw Thi’s character in a story e.g. like Eclipse then I would totally agree too that he’s unnecessary over the top, but here, in this particular story and in this comedic and kind of nostalgic setting, he fits perfectly.
I love how the story kind of matured along with the acting somewhere around episode 7 and then it just kept on giving, really wholesome. This is a real gem!
Who or what possessed Dong Baek in one of the earlier episodes? 🧐
I thought that too but then it seemed like Dennis himself didn’t know why he was acting the way he was doing? Well at least not like last two episodes I’d say.
I like this series! For a show that’s supposed to be light and dorky it has pretty clever writing/staging in some parts. Already from the opening scene in ep 5 it was kinda obvious that Noey was dressed to impress in his own way and that there would be no tutoring happening despite Thi’s wishes 🥲 I like Thi’s character too, he’s an awkward scaredy cat but that fits the silliness of this show. And Noey’s totally projecting his own feelings each time he says that Thi likes him, cute 😌
