AHHH this is why I used to love South Korean dramas back in the day, and would wait with excitement for each episode... the sexiness, the flawed grey characters, the toxicity, and the angst. There was a rawness to the emotions that felt so real, powerful and addictive. What a contrast to the expensive soulless fluff produced in the name of romance these days.
E3. "From time to time, I suddenly realise that the people I see everyday face a life like that of a candle in the wind. What does one hope for at the end in the presence of a fleeting life?"
"Why does everyone think about wanting to die?" "Isn't it because they imagine it? They imagine a different kind of self or a world without suffering. If there's something like that for them, they want to go there. Even though no such world exists." "So its tough no matter what they choose." "So I guess I have no choice but to ease their pain."
"I am glad you stopped the car. You did an amazing job" "Because I'm not going to let anyone die anymore."
"Santa Claus is real"
"I think the last thing people want is hope."
What's with this writer constantly writing in a way that hit close to home for meðŸ˜
E2. "Since you're related to them, its kind of like a swamp you can't escape from, and you may end up being hurt more." "Swamp?" "Also known as love" "Whether it be a close or a shallow relationship, it still hurts."
"I guess we all need that someone, huh"
"People live for love.. or so it seems. But that love is both beautiful and cruel and at the end, we have no choice but to live with both."
Episode 2 killed me. This is shaping up to be such a powerful and hard-hitting mini-drama. As someone who cared for my grandparents all my life till their death, I related to Kyoko so strongly. Those intense feelings of love, and hatred.. sigh.
HAHA

Hero (2001) is another legal drama with a great bickering duo.
