Kitagawa Eriko knows how to write a romance, and Nakayama Miho can create chemistry with a rock. Winning combo! If you enjoy bittersweet movies rich in dialogue, like Before Sunrise / Before Sunset, with 2 gorgeous strangers who hit it off instantly in an unknown country and have crackling chemistry together, then you'll enjoy this movie. Sigh I wish this was a drama because I could watch Mukai Osamu and Nakayama Miho interact and cuddle for hours. They were really beautiful together. Time well spent :)
What a wonderful film! The beauty of the love story between the deaf ML and hearing FL lied in the simplicity with which their feelings were conveyed, and the 'normalcy' of their relationship. Unlike movies / dramas in this genre that often make you ugly cry, this made me cry tears of joy (even though it had its lovely moments of angst). Highly recommend this gem for all :)
P.S ALSO ALL THAT SEXUAL TENSION BETWEEN THE LEADS OMGGGGG😳
Those are probably the shoujo manga live adaptations that are meant to be corny as they are mimicking the source material. You should definitely try out the non-manga Japanese dramas, which are actually quality dramas :)
"Lower quality" + "subpar acting" That is not at all true. Watch the proper cable dramas, rather than the shoujo manga dramas, and the acting easily surpasses other Asian countries. There are way too many brilliant actors, and a huge variety of stories. Also, many J dramas are shot beautifully, with great cinematography. Those that have the yellow filter effect because they let it look natural rather than do excessive colour grading. It's not because they are using 20 year old lenses.
A tender and heartwarming love story with a sincere Ninomiya Kazunari and the ever-lovely Haru. Despite this trope being done to death, what's not to like about this beautiful film :)
P.S Can Ninomiya please do more romance dramas / films? I adored him in this.
I just finished Nanyobi ni Umareta no. Highly recommend it!
I watched Kazoku Game on Dramacool and yeah the quality isn't that great. I just did a Google search though and there are episodes on Veoh and Dailymotion which are good quality (at least better than Dramacool)
I recommended Sleeping Forest to you while I was still watching it. It had the potential to be really good but it ended up being strictly decent. Worth a one-time watch though (at least for me).
Seems like you enjoy darker and character-driven stories. Check out these - Iari: Mienai Kao Watashi wo Hanasanaide Kono Yo No Hate Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi Innocent Days Mukou No Hate
