I feel the same. I was holding myself back from clicking on 'episode 1' because it has these actors who were my early introduction to Asian cinema.
And I hate to admit that my resolve wasn't strong enough and I finally caved and watched the first episode today HAHAHA

What a wonderful and feel-good drama featuring the air force, with beautiful character development, inspiring stories, and a wholesome romance. Beautifully written, with sincere performances by Aragaki Yui, Ayano Go and Shibata Kyohei, who you can't help but root for, this was pure love!
Highly recommended for all :)

The original Japanese drama was so awesome that I'm skeptical about this. But seeing Yoo Seung Ho in this makes me want to check it out.

There are TONS of J dramas with strong female characters. You've probably watched the shoujo dramas meant for teenagers instead of the proper cable dramas.
