MDL ratings i would preferably say the Final ratings matter more
The synopsis of this drama does sound interesting, I'll check it out once it finishes airing.. I'd probably watch it even if the reviews aren't positive haha
Fav j-drama..hmm.. I don't have one? There are way too many! You can check my list for those that I highly recommend. https://mydramalist.com/list/LQJEl7R3
MDL ratings i would preferably say the Final ratings matter more
I don't even look at ratings anymore.. most of them are either inflated and given generic 10s (case in pt: k dramas, c dramas) or criminally underrated and given a low score (case in pt: j dramas) Over time, I've learnt to just watch whatever I feel like watching rather than trusting others' judgement. After all, we know what we enjoy best! Also thanks to that, I've enjoyed movies and dramas I never thought I would be interested in, opening me up to multiple genres and interesting stories.
I wish i've never watched this, it made me sick even though i have no trauma about this subjects. I think mydramalist…
Spoiler please. To answer your question, there are quite a number of movies / dramas with incest as a theme but I wouldn't call it common. You'll be able to find a Japanese movie / drama on any theme or subject matter. That's how diverse Japanese cinema is.
E7The father is one dumb ass. The woman just confessed her love to another man and the father still says shit…
E9 - E11 The chemistry between the leads is no joke LOVEEEEEEEED the wedding, the photoshoots, the honeymoon, the moment of reading the mum's letter together.. Nok may not say 'i love you' but she proves it through her concern and actions. Loveeeed the progression.
Also love the relationship between Nok's mum & dad - the understanding & concern they have together. Its beautiful to see 2 people who were husband/wife be mature adults and friends. In a way, its also sad that they didn't work out as husband/wife.
Also the dad - whatever happened to loving the mistress and waiting for her a whole lifetime. He saw the photos, got jealous and accused her? Seriously doubt his love for her. He wanted her, got her but doesn't seem to care and take care of her after marriage. I can't believe I'm saying this but I feel bad for her. Despite her hesitation, she was trying but in the end its the man who is the disappointment.
Towards the end of E11 I can't believe the FL wanted to exchange her husband for her father. Like girl how insensitive can you be?! This man has been nothing but caring for you, and this is what you give him in return?! HOW COULD YOU NOT THINK ABOUT WHAT HE WOULD GO THROUGH Even though she didn't say 'I love you' you could see that she was slowly reciprocating his feelings, and now they throw this idiotic twist at us? Misunderstandings are tolerable but this?! I am so disgusted and just feel like dropping it because I don't think I can root for the leads anymore..
But its just 3 more episodes so I think I'll just finish it.
E12 - E13 Seriously don't understand the FL crying and acting like a victim when she herself told the ML that she didn't want the baby and didn't care about him. The ML made his feelings and love for her clear time and time again. Even after the harsh words she said, he didn't treat her poorly and gave her utmost care and respect because he didn't want to hurt and his baby. The FL, on the other hand, barely ever told him that she loves him. She even hurt him with her cruelty and harsh words time and time again. She could have just told him that she regretted what she said and apologized, but all she does is cry or talk back to him because she wants to win. Seriously so off-putting. I get her psychology and how she came to be, but after a certain point, you also need to learn to give in and think of the other person in a relationship.
I know they're probably gonna end up together at the end but seriously I so wish he walks away unless she apologizes for each and everything she said, and truly redeems herself (though I doubt - just 1 episode left)
Re-watched this after years, and lakorns these days can't compare to the masterpiece this was. Yes, it is extremely triggering and raw but in no way, does it glamorize the rape. Rather, it provokes you and makes you realize in each arc of how unforgivable and cruel what Kawee did was. It is not for the faint hearted, and should not be compared to the slap/kiss trash these days. If you can handle it, it has a hard-hitting and well-written character-driven script, with one of the best character progressions you will see in a lakorn. The acting, too, remains the best you will see in a lakorn. These were not merely fictional characters, they were living breathing people whose journey takes you on one hell of a ride.
That rain scene in E5 has my heart.Lakorns can be so good when they want to.
E7 The father is one dumb ass. The woman just confessed her love to another man and the father still says shit like there's a difference between young love and mature love? Like HUH?! Why the hell are you waiting for a woman who made a fool out of your feelings.. and what's worse, he divorced his wife and broke his daughter's heart for her. No matter how spoilt Nok might be, she fought for her father, and her father just humiliated her for revealing the truth and chose the mistress?! WOW he totally became the worst character on the show for me.
Also Nok's mother is awesome. The father doesn't deserve her. The fact that he chose his mistress over this sassy, yet sensitive woman baffles me. I love how she stood up for her daughter, and told her ex straight up that it doesn't matter who he loves. Their daughter should be priority.
He's not being replaced. His name is all over the PR pieces for the drama, which comes out in 3 weeks. They're…
There are multiple press releases that he will be retained only in scenes where he can't be edited out. So yes, a lot of his screentime has been chopped out. Also, in the latest photos released by Netflix, there are no stills of Yoo Ah In even though he was signed as the lead of this show.
I have no idea WTF I am watching How could two brilliant actors like Mark and Yaya agree to do this drama?! This is a first Mark / Yaya drama I am dropping. All the best to everyone who is gonna sit through 10 more hours of this. You guys are very patient.
