Me too, bring it on! I'm ready for the chaos, the preview for the 2nd episodes looks like it will be "explosive"…
OOOOOOH that makes me even more excited haha I plan to start this once it reaches close to the end so that I don't have to wait too long for each episode.
This one I have to say in caps because it's annoying WHAT IS THE FREAKING PURPOSE OF BREAD"S CHARACTER?! CAN THEY PLEASE REMOVE THIS CHARACTER. URGH. HE MAKES ME WANNA PUKE WITH HIS CRINGEY EXPRESSIONS
From episode 7 on, the rape of FL by the "trustworthy man" destroys the previously pleasant fluffy romantic comedy. After…
First off, SHE WAS NOT RAPED.
Not that I'm saying what happened is ok, but I think a lot of ppl misinterpreted the FL's reaction and made a big deal out of it. She woke up in the bed undressed, unaware of what happened. She couldn't have assumed that assault was involved after all she was drunk and couldn't remember a thing. So how do ppl expect her to immediately assume assault and slap the guy? Isn't it possible that she undressed herself? We don't even know what exactly happened. Afterall, he's her friend and he was nice to her. He appeared to back off after she rejected him. So its fair for her to not assume the worst of him. She explained herself to the ML as she knew the situation. Not more, not less.
And then when Kamiyama comes to the house and lies - she is pretty clear. She calls him out for his lie. And she asks him why he is lying. She says she trusts him but that's more out of wanting to draw out the truth and believing that he wouldn't have any ill intentions towards her. It's fair for her to not understand why he would.
Again most commentors are mad that she didn't slap Kamiyama but on what basis? She was drunk and she doesn't remember what happened. She wants to believe that nothing happened but can she swear on it when she herself doesn't know shit? And I'll repeat this - she has little reason to believe that this friend of hers would go to the extent of 'assaulting' her or harbouring a negative agenda towards her.
I finally understood my largest disconnect with the drama. They're trying to make it look so epic with the expensive mum and evil villain like there's going to be lots of huge action and reveals but then the next moment they cut to the rest of the family where it looks like some sort of quirky family drama.. and that just throws me off. It's not the mixing of genres, rather it is the mixing of 2 very different directions that the show is taking that is making it really hard to enjoy. They should have chosen 1 direction. The original had the same issue, but probably because the stakes were not as high in that, that I was still able to laugh at it. The plot also moved, whereas in this we're 7 episodes in alr, and yet I feel like nothing substantial has even happened. Not to mention, the biggest selling point - the leads and their chemistry. I cannot imagine Nam Soon getting intimate with the police guy because she behaves like a kid, and it would be gross to see a kid kissing a grown adult. All said, I'm dropping this for now. Maybe I'll return to it when I've got nothing better to do.
A warm and cozy drama to watch after a long day with lots of food porn, positive characters, and a slow-burn romance you can't help but cheer for. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to be comforted with a short, simple drama that has zero negativity :)
Oh no, that must be hard. Praying for your speedy recovery. Ganbatte, neeeeeeeee!
I am swamped with work and living the painful existence of being an adult, and yet blissfully drowning in the world of Japanese old films and dramas. HAHAHAHAHAHHA
