E3. I AM OFFICIALLY IN LOVE WITH THIS DRAMA. The leads, the kid, & their rabbit, I love this newfound family so…
I am loving the dynamic between the leads so much. You can see how he's eased up around her & loves to tease her. And that flashback of the school days.. he remembered her fondly. Seems like deep down, he's always liked her but never quite realized it. MY HEART. DID HE FAN THEM ALL NIGHT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH <3 I also love the relationship between the FL & the kid. They're all almost like a family, I love it so so much. And now she's moving in with them YAYYYYYYY He even offered it without her asking & carried her luggage for her <3 I loved Ren's condition.. THEY'RE GONNA EAT BREAKFAST TOGETHER EVERY MORNING AHHHHH Ren's smile, Karibe's smile WAS EVERYTHING!! Both of them like her <3
This comment would be incomplete if I didn't mention his pet rabbit which is so adorable. I want a rabbit too!!
So you're telling me that each episode she's gonna date a different guy just so that he can write his manga?!WHAT…
I just watched E3 and I'm in love with this drama. The previews are misleading lol.. they're totally focusing on the relationship between the leads. E3 WAS SO DAMN ROMANTIC IT CHANNELED MY INNER FANGIRL.
E3. I AM OFFICIALLY IN LOVE WITH THIS DRAMA. The leads, the kid, & their rabbit, I love this newfound family so so much BE STILL MY HEART KYAAAAAAAAA<3 Just the romance I wanted!! Can't wait for E4 :)
So you're telling me that each episode she's gonna date a different guy just so that he can write his manga?!WHAT…
Actually they did spend a lot of time on building the relationship between the leads in the first 2 episodes, it's just that the twist at the end of E2 threw me off, with him asking her to date another guy. I just hope that the other episodes won't have her dating & breaking up with other guys. I thought it was a one-off thing lol.
I didn't enjoy this & didn't feel the characters nor their love. It was too short with little set up. Most of it was left unexplored. We barely even got to know the leads as individuals outside their "romantic" connection. Speaking of the romance, I didn't feel it. I was uncomfortable with the way she stalked him. I finished this only because it was short. I was hoping that it would get better but it didn't. To give credit where due, I did like the concept of living the same day again & again. Too bad it was all half-baked.
I've only seen 1 episode but I can say with confidence that this is my favourite drama from this season so far. I was drawn into Omamedo Towako's world & felt fully immersed in the 1 hour. I was sad when the episode ended. I loved Omamedo Towako & her 3 ex-husbands. The cast is PERFECT. As with Sakamato Yuji's dramas, the dialogues & interactions were rich, thought-provoking & even random at times. There were many hilarious moments, but I felt that there was a certain melancholiness to the tone of the show despite the quirky narration. Can't wait to see where this journey leads us to.. Special mention for the awesome ending song! Can't wait for E2!
I love Matsuzaka Tori & Ai Yoshikawa BUT OMG Suzuki Anne!!! She was freaking amazing in Aoi Tori, I fell in love with her. So nice to see her here!!! <3
WOW this got me so emotional I don't even know where to begin.. it was PERFECT. It was just so romantic, moving & sincere in every way (words fall short really).
I love how this was documentary-like in the way they presented the FL's struggles with her self-esteem at different stages of her life (from a kid to being a mother) & presented the impact she made on others' lives & how they, too, struggled along with her. I cried along with her, smiled with her & went through so many emotions.
There were so many things I learnt from this - the most important being that we shouldn't look at one's disability, rather we should look at the person, & that a loving family is no miracle. It is made up of one's commitment to the family, trust and communication.
Also, if you ask me what kind of a man I want, I can say with confidence, the ML in this tops the list for me. He was no perfect man, but he was an understanding husband, & father. He never gave up on the family & constantly worked to bridge whatever difficulties or differences they had. The FL, too.
This is a MUST WATCH. I would recommend this to every single person.
Thank you for this article! I have been watching Taiwanese Dramas since the 90s and I agree that they have changed in the recent years. It's sad they're no longer as popular anymore. I loved all the dramas you mentioned on the list. They're great & definitely worth the watch. The only drama I disliked from your list was Bromance.
Some other fantastic T-dramas I really want to recommend (though they're not recent) - The Rose In A Good Way Bump Off Lover Amour et Patisserie Love, Now
I haven't read the manga but I really liked the movie, unlike majority of the comments. It was a bittersweet movie on romance, friendship & navigating through relationships as a youth, with an A1 soundtrack. The direction & screenplay was exceptional & added a flair to the movie, making it more than your average high school romantic movie.
Given all the negative comments about this, I went in with low expectations to see how bad it could be, but I surprisingly really liked the first episode. Maybe it's just me, but even the actress who played Kurumi acted better. She was way more bearable. To me, the first season's best moments were when they focused on the cast dynamics & interactions, so I quite liked the first episode. I liked the set up & the tone they set for what's to come. I hope that the actual climax point won't be as disappointing though.. On to episode 2.
E2. "Menstruation is not something to be ashamed of" PREACH SISTER!!!!! I absolutely love how this show blends these kinds of topics in such a light-hearted "extra" setting. They make it so normal. Refreshing! Also, where do I find a guy like Meguru? He's so cute, gentle and kind.
I also love the relationship between the FL & the kid. They're all almost like a family, I love it so so much. And now she's moving in with them YAYYYYYYY
