I am confused why they took so much influence from the British royal family for this drama. I had this thought…
I find the correlation to the British monarchy odd and interesting too. I notice Kdramas (even Cdramas) seem to admire British culture, but criticize American culture (especially Hollywood—The criticism of Hollywood is understandable though). This drama definitely seems to take inspiration from real-life existing royal families, but not just the British. The car-failure/car-crash reminds me of British Princess Diana, but also Princess Grace of Monaco. The commoner marrying a prince (Huiju / Ian) reminds me of Meghan and Price Harry. I would imagine similarities exist in the Japanese royal family, the Norwegian monarchy, the Danish royal family, etc, etc, etc.

I love how he had her back 💯for whatever revenge she wanted to perpetrate on that mean girl. 🤣

FL's secretary and especially ML's secretary need to get their salaries increased by threefold. They deserve that…

He looks super good here compared to the StartUp drama days.
I noticed that he looked rather handsome in this drama too. There’s a definite glow-up going on.

i actually need more of huiju × majesty scenes 😭 their dynamic is so pure and fun
It was delightful seeing everyone playing and laughing. I just wish Prince Ian had been in on the fun too. He definitely needs an outlet to play and let loose.

Now the waiting game begins 🙃 Friday, please come faster
Ughh, I’ve got a whole week to get through before I can enjoy a new episode. But, this is how it was back in the 1980s when I grew up and all we had was regular TV shows where you got one episode per week. Now, that seems like a bizarre and unreasonable concept to people 😄😉.

That’s just how it works. She’s the mother of the King, she produced the heir, so she’s in an elevated position. Other royals are deferential to her. My guess is that it’s borne out of Confucianism where parents, or the elders in the family, have an esteemed place in the social hierarchy.

I wonder if Ian let's Prime Minister Min win at chess? That little line of his was slick about if he did whatever…
I noticed all that wordplay too and felt it was foreshadowing something big. But, I can’t make out what.

Ep 4 made me a bit sad as we were seeing how restrictive royal life is. It makes marrying royalty look somewhat unappealing.

Where does this come from? I thought this drama was an original screenplay not not an existing novel or manga.
I know what she said. I just didn’t know where the character synopsis came from, i.e., who wrote it, hence my question. Never mind, another commenter explained.

Very Princess Diana/Meghan Markle before things turned sour 😔😢. I wish things had turned out differently for both of them.

Does anyone know what brand IU is wearing of those wrap hanbok dresses in episode 4. I wonder if it is custom…
That green/pink floral one was so pretty. It mixed the English-cottage aesthetic with Joseon style. Love 💕 it!
