Yes, I thoroughly admire the calm, the strength, but also the gentleness, the intellect, the cautiousness, and the perceptiveness of the FL. Tan Songyun is nailing the role so far. Even her voice is a bit softer and more calm in this role, which shows how she fully embodies the character.

I am keen to understand when the ML and his wife became so antagonistic towards each other. Were they estranged even on the wedding night or did the hostility grow over time?

We have learned she felt forced into the marriage. So, maybe she hated him from the get-go.

We’ve also learned that he hates her family because they try to manipulate him like a puppet and he ain’t having it.

I’m just wondering if there were ever warm feelings between them, even for a second.

Oh , I hope not! That’s disappointing to hear. The second season rarely lives up to the first, in my opinion—case in point: Flourished Peony Season 2.

What are they saying? That he looks good or that he doesn’t look good?

It’s very good. I’m looking forward to the next episode every time. The way things are unfolding slowly has me engrossed and intrigued.

Does anyone else have trouble watching the Tencent app on television via Roku? It spontaneously skips episode 2 whilst in the middle of the episode and proceeds to episode 3 where it does the same thing. I am a VIP member.

I know people criticize his acting, but Vin Zhang was fantastic in “Light Beyond the Reeds” —the definition of manly.

Nope, you missed the point. The drama screenwriter definitely did Flora’s character a disservice. Luke’s character was presented as more “wronged” which is ridiculous given the imbalance of power between them. Yet, that’s how it came across. Had Luke been more thoroughly mean and despicable as the character was meant to be, then Flora’s outrage in the end would have made more sense.

The drama made Flora the villain. That’s unfortunate.

Flora is the villain in this story. 😂🤣🙄😔I don’t like how they made her the undiscerning one. Luke had more EI and EQ growth than Flora, in my opinion.

Which girl? His sister or the woman for America? I recall Flora’s being emotionally unsettled at both their presence even though she didn’t say anything. When has Flora ever voiced her true feelings when she was jealous and insecure? She doesn’t communicate.

Her behavior during the gourmet meal was rude—I already said that.

Yes, he should just shake her or pat her back, or preferably no physical contact at all. Physical contact especially a deep hug is not needed by a non-related opposite gender. Comforting words, warm presence—these provide great healing.

The drama has made Luke too alluring. If they had made him as thoroughly toxic as his character is in the novel, I’m sure I would see things differently. (I have not read the novel, but I heard he’s bad in the book, much worse than the depiction here in drama.)
