I watched avenueX's review on this..is this worth watching? I don't want to waste time
AvenueX seems to dislike most popular dramas that the masses like. Just because she dislikes something doesn’t mean that you will. She’s a tough critic and she is very smart; sometimes she makes valid points. Other times, her opinions are just that—her own opinions, not facts.
I personally stopped following her because of her negativity and sarcasm. But, the historical information and cultural contexts that she provided were always very interesting and helpful. But, her rude opinions were not.
Also, she seems to rate and critique dramas based on the first 1 or two episodes instead of giving the whole drama a fair evaluation. That’s certainly what she did with “Hidden Love.”
Luo Mei is so full of BS. She’s normally an expressionless ice princess, but had the weirdest smile on her face when visiting the CP in prison. She finds this the moment to start looking at him with a warm smile and loving eyes?! Weird girl. I guess she did actually fall in love with this psychopath. She scolded him for not confessing his love to her sooner, that maybe all the trouble he caused could’ve been avoided if he had. That’s BS. When he confessed his love, she said she only wanted to be a general and serve the country. It was only after that aphrodisiac and Prince Jing “died” that she was willing to look at the CP. I don’t like her inconsistency.
This is the first time the “I have to be mean to you to protect you“ trope actually made sense. The utter betrayal and shock in her eyes—that was some good acting. Both leads nailed that scene. 🎭
Crown Prince stay getting jealous over somebody. “Daddy likes you better than me”. “It was so quick for you to become Prince; took me 20 years”. Ughhh. 😑 Whiny brat.
anyhow who watched the Chinese vr can they explain me how actually sanha's sister died ?
In the original C-version, the crazy, derelict mom was off playing cards with her friends and looked the kids in the house with no way to escape during an emergency. The frantic boy screamed his lungs out for help as his little sister was choking.
I was not expecting the writing to be that cringy and pathetic ... where is the complexity, where is the deepness??…
It did turn a bit too fluffy in the last couple of episodes, during their “domestic era” as someone described it. Maybe things will ramp back up soon. We’re still waiting for her find out he was the Master of the Shadow Sect.
