The actress playing Professor Yu has played several unlikable characters in other dramas; so, seeing her as one of the good guys here is not gelling in my brain.

There were a lot of kisses in “Forbidden Flower” and the chemistry was fire, but she’s not a good kisser, in my opinion. I don’t know how she did in that drama with Li Yun Rui (didn’t watch). Loved her in “Perfect and Casual,” but Miles Wei is a master kisser. The trailer with Zhang Ling He looks pretty hot. So, I’m optimistic about the kisses.

The way Lu Yan is so oblivious and arrogant about her safety is annoying and just plain silly. Honestly, when she got pushed in the subway, 🚇 that was totally on her.

She seems politically astute to me especially for a woman of that era. She’s able to fill in the gaps of her knowledge by reading the paper scraps thrown out by the palace staff and officials. She takes that paper and recycles it after getting palace insights. That’s smart. So, I can’t really agree with your assessment.

I’m not impressed with the Flying Bird Society. They jump to conclusions without having all the facts. They out here ready to kill somebody who hasn’t even done anything wrong 😑!

Good drama! If you like lots of hot kisses, this is the drama for you. Besides that, I found the Republican-era plot entertaining, better than the average drama of this genre, and flowed well. As one commenter below said, the FL was fighting for her beliefs instead of some silly revenge. We had entirely too many revenge dramas this year.
