I thought the same exact thing as you regarding the asking-a-favor scene. “She wants me. I knew it…hehehe 🤭she wants me 🎶 typical …wait, what? She wants medicine for her mother? What?! Not me? MEDICINE??” 💊 He calms down, gives her that inscrutable look that you mentioned, and thinks, “Wowww. She’s truly a good person. I think I’m falling in love.” 🥰😅😂

I think he might have gained weight for the role since he’s a soldier which might explain the fuller face. He doesn’t look older, just fuller. His features don’t look as cut and chiseled in this drama. But, I like it. Makes him look more down-to-earth and attainable.

I feel like he was still sus of her until this recent episode where she asked for medicine for her mother. Her good character is now confirmed in his eyes. Previously, he was like, “This girl is extra clever. What’s up with that? And she wants to work in my office now too?! Let me check her out again. Who is this chica?” He’s still puzzled, I think. But, now, from episode 12, there is also that subtle interest that you mentioned since he believes she’s a good person.

His face is fuller in this drama. I barely recognized him. Still handsome, but not as handsome as he was in “In Blossom.” His handsomeness blew my mind in “In Blossom.”

Her character wasn’t dragging her husband down at all in Sword and the Brocade.

She has to rack up merit so she can earn her freedom. The Lin family needs to feel like they owe it to her. Thus, her being the savior will continue, I think, until it’s time for her to fall in love with him. Then, the role will reverse wherein he tries to “earn merit” (will be good to her parents or something) so she will come to love him. Just my guess, not a spoiler!

I find the soldier-bestie sus too. But, hope I’m wrong.

Yes, I know the drama you’re referring to. She was the 2nd FL. The ML here was the ML in that drama as well. I really enjoyed her in that drama and would have liked her in the FL role.

She was recently the FL in a Miles Wei drama (can’t remember the name) but I dropped it.
