I'll say this... Li Rong Zhang is an abusive ass, but at least he took five minutes to look into what happened to Qingyi in prison and did something about it (true, he also had his own gains in mind). I still loved how he spoke to Qingyi's egg donor (I refuse to call her a mother). I also hope the brother feels bad because he waffles over supporting his brother to his mother, and that has to end. Either support him or don't.

So much this! I hope he keeps calling out her terrible plans. Because they have all been terrible. I totally get why they want revenge, but come up with some better plans and stop continuing to hurt innocent people.

Did you even read kdramaddixxion's post? It wasn't blind praise. A goodly amount of the complaints are the same things regurgitated ad nauseam. I personally don't think it is a perfect show and, yes, there are some issues. However, that doesn't detract from me enjoying what I'm seeing and looking forward to where the story goes (similar to what kdramaddixxion posted).

I'm asking honestly: have you watched recent Republican-era dramas? Because this style is on par with more recent Republican-era dramas. It is not parody; it is melodramatic.

I wish I could like your comment more than once! I have been watching cdramas nearly as long as you have. You mentioned all of the things I have been thinking, but honestly too frustrated to put together so coherently. I am very invested in the story and can't wait to see where they take us! Also, yes, the acting has been phenomenal! Happy watching! 😃

Me too! I rewatched it on WeTV and I nearly choked from laughing so hard when they kissed. The bullet comments exploded. 🤣🤣🤣I also agree about their performances. They both are doing so well! I already needed tissues.

My comment about the hate was more directed at the downward comments towards short dramas, acting like they are lesser than, when they are just another form of entertainment. All forms of entertainment have their value. I have no problem with valid complaints. I just haven't seen many of those. But you are correct, people are entitled to their opinions.

1) For people upset about the opening, so many dramas now open with some sort of animated opening that it seems like a really odd criticism to make. I had to watch it again to see what the problem was, and it turned out to be a basic opening. It captured the feel (thematically) for where the show seems to be going, so it seemed to do its job.

2) It is clear that many commenters have never watched a Republican drama before. They are *all* a hot mess. That is nearly a trope of the genre. Also, comparing it to a short drama isn't the diss you think it is. Many people enjoy short dramas, and they are just another form of entertainment. No need for the hate.

I personally enjoyed the first five episodes, and my only complaint is that more were not yet released. I personally can't wait to see more and am buckled in for the ride! It is clear this show isn't for everyone, so my hope is that if you aren't enjoying it, just stop watching and don't downvote for arbitrary feelings.

This right here! It seems like a lot of people in the comments have never watched a Republican drama before. Also, short dramas can be a lot of fun... no need to look down your nose at them. They all serve their purpose.

I want to know who from the costume department thought it would be a good idea to put googly eyes on the dragon on the king's outfit (note: I realize they aren't real googly eyes, but they sure do look like them and make me laugh every time I see him). 😂

I wouldn't say it is sad per se (though it has sad moments), but it is more of a dark/gritty romance. It is not really light, but it is very enjoyable to watch for me.

Her brother already commented on it, so yeah, they are noticing right away.
