It’s al- freaking alwaysssss the triller mystery cdramas getting the low rating even if it’s a good show.…
Same! It actually took longer than I thought to get under 8. I have discovered some great mystery/crime dramas by ignoring their low rating. It always amazes me how this happens for these kinds of shows. The same thing recently happened with Eight Hundred. Was in the middle 8s for a while, then boom, rating dropped. 🤷‍♀️

The second comment really wasn't for you, but the others who seem to be talking more about BL than bromance. 😉They have a great relationship, and it is fun when they banter.

Any bromance in this one?
Yes! The real couple is He Yuan Hang and Ran Fang Xu. 😉They went from enemies to friends to family. Their dynamic is really great!

Also, bromance does not equal BL. They are two separate things.

so the climax of the case depends on multiple people recalling specific details from conversations a whole 13…
This is rather standard in investigations. Physical evidence is often hard to find without the context that witnesses can bring. This is why cold cases, like the one in the show, are so hard to solve after the initial investigation. Physical evidence dries up, and you have to rely on people's memories, which are often misleading.

Just when everything about to fall into place, now crying my eyes out 😭😭😭 It’s really hard to accept.…
She had some odd expressions throughout this episode (and in past ones). Makes it hard to believe she doesn't know what is going on or who the murderer is/could be.

Edited for clarity.

Why does Su Qing look very sus? Does she know something or did she do something about Ran’s death?
She has looked sus throughout and continues past episode 20.

I am in such a glass case of emotion. At the beginning of episode 20, when Xiao He was remembering Ran sitting in the archive room, and we see his slow smile, I nearly burst into ugly tears. Then later, when Yuan Hang was remembering things about Ran (when he got the hat, etc.), his expressions broke my heart. 🥹

A Sheng is a crap person. I couldn't stand her before, and after episode 28, I couldn't care less what happens to her character. I wish Xin Mei would wake up and drop her like the bad habit she is. If anyone deserves to step on a LEGO in the middle of the night barefoot, it is A Sheng.

I am not expecting her to reciprocate any feelings for Jin Lun, but when someone helps you get rid of your evil father at risk of their own life and loses a limb, you can show the slightest bit of appreciation. She is cut from the same cloth as her father, and I hope Xin Mei realizes this sooner rather than later.

Tbh this isn't as good as people are hyping it to be here. After reading the comments i think most people are…
I am here for the mystery. Can't help that one of the male leads is also from idol dramas. While you may be enjoying another show more, it doesn't mean we can't enjoy this one too. I am here to see how the story unfolds, and I like that many seemingly irrelevant shots/pieces of information are actually quite relevant down the road. I think the storytelling element is interesting. It isn't perfect, but I'm certainly enjoying it.

Currently rom-com isn't romcoming that well for me in all honesty. This had perfect start for me personally but…
Yes! I am so frustrated that she openly flirts with the PM (and in front of IA) and has no boundaries. I'm not saying she has to stop talking to him or can't have him as a friend, but now that she is married (even a contract marriage), she should tone it down. I see how much it hurts IA, and she is like so oblivious to another person's feelings that she is surprised when IA asks her to at least address him differently. It has seriously soured my experience with the drama.

Wow...,7.3😍😍 it is still high it should be less than 5 I don't know what is happening here, such iconic…
While I agree it should be higher, crime/mystery/thrillers generally have a lower score on MDL when they are, in fact, really well done. I would say the average score is around 7.3-7.5, when I would rate them all much higher. Their comments sections are also flooded with "Is there romance?" (when there is no "Romance" tag in the description). With this show, I think it has more to do with fan shenanigans than anything else. I always take these ratings with a grain of salt.

I am actually not interested in xio he's kidnapping at all ...so ep 16 was boring for me... Wished they skipped…
As annoying as it was, it is relevant to the case.

This drama is giving me major 2010s drama vibes—like going straight into romance. It’s cute, fluffy, and honestly…
I agree that it does have the feel of older dramas, which makes me happy. I think the actors are doing great. To be honest, I do find IU's character annoying, not her. She is killing it! I'm not quite sure what Yi An sees in her beyond a spoiled chaebol's daughter/CEO.

As NotYourOppa mentioned, the lack of protocol and disregard for Yi An does take me out a bit. I realize this is a drama, but if you are building a world where the monarchy still exists, you should continue with it. This is more so a problem with the writing than anything else. Not a huge issue, but it does grate a bit for me.

7.4?!? Seriously?I can hardly believe it. I joined MDL because I thought it was a space for open, coherent discussion…
Yeah, this rating seems off. This is a solidly good drama that deserves more than this. When you look at the episode ratings, they are much higher than this, so it must come from accounts rating the overall series.

I also haven't finished it (I do have WeTV VIP, but didn't opt to pay for the final episodes), but everything I am seeing is just so good that this low rating seems highly suspect to me.

I think so too, that XuMeng is still alive. I don’t know about killing her father, could be, but I think she…
I think that is an interesting theory that Qiao is XuMeng. I did notice the parallel stories, and it does make one think.

After watching the previews for 23-24, I am over A Sheng's attitude towards Lu Qian Qiao. She is acting like she is five years old and putting space between them. She is one of those characters who needs their "savior's" full attention and ends up ruining their happiness.

The title (Eight Hundred) is the number of bad decisions being made between Chen Hui and Songge.
